Interesting watching back the highlights! 12 shots to 6 (on and off target) in our favour, hit the woodwork twice and scored twice. As I said before I don't think it was our best performance, but it just shows how spoilt we've been lately with the performances given all the disappointment on here. I'd suggest all watch the highlights as I think it may well change opinions about the game with hindsight. I also think the quality of football played against Wealdstone on Tuesday is fresh in everyone's minds and Saturday paled in comparison. As well as hitting the woodwork there was a fine fingertip save from the Leiston Keeper , and a goal line clearance from there number three . The match could have been won in some style . This was not a great performance but would there be so much gloom if those chances had gone in . We are a miserable lot sometimes

Now that the footage is up and it's clear that the foul for the Leiston pen was comfortably inside the area, I hope those characters in the cheap seats who screamed entirely unmerited abuse at the ref will have the decency to apologise. There's no harm in people expressing their ill-informed opinion on here - in fact, I can think of one regular who'd probably have nothing to do if he couldn't - but people who accuse the ref of cheating ought first to ask themselves whether their wishful thinking isn't making them see what they want to see. I was in the cheapseats and i callef the ref a cheat. I haven't yet seen the highlights but at the time i would have bet serious money it was outside it seemed clear as day to me and many around me and apparently others on this forum. Had nothing to do with wishful thinking just was stunned to see a penalty given along with a good many others. I also thought on the day that one of our goals was a foul and shouldn 't have stood. Its a game of high passions and I make no apologies for being passionate in my support at the time the decision to award the penalty seemed so obviously wrong that it bordered on match fixing. If i got it wrong then so be it, at the time I couldn't have been more sure I was right. If you want a library theres one next door.

I can't believe so many people got it wrong (myself most certainly included), and just 4-5 people in the whole ground got it right!
No danger of a red card though, common misguided belief that a foul by the keeper in the box is a red card. It must be denying a clear goalscoring opportunity - definitely not the case there.

Given that it wasn't denying a clear goalscoring opportunity you have to wonder what on earth Worgan was doing rushing out there for a ball he had little chance of reaching.

The problem is that we've been spoilt, who'd have thought we'd be top of the league? Our squad is too thin, and our budget isn’t big enough, however our 1st 11 could give anyone a game outside the conference national. Philips and Brown were big misses yesterday, in their place we had Fabio who is adjusting to this level and a new sighing who has hardly had a kick all season, so is it really a surprise we struggled to get a grip of the game? As for Leiston, I don't know why they are near the bottom of the table but I'll have a cheeky fiver with anyone that they won’t be, come the end of the season We'd also just seen 2 of the best games this season against Wealdstone; we'll not know how much effort that took out of the side! Charley did well, but I disagree with Jay, I don't think he's a wide man, spends too much coming inside and running across the pitch, I think he'd be better suited as cover for Brownie or 'in the hole' The game wasn't the greatest, but I thought the out pouring of woe was a little too strong. Let's not under estimate the character the boys have shown in coming back from difficult situations this season. If they can keep their heads up and never give up, so should we! COYS!!!

Bloody hell, Tim. Where did such a long post made up of such sensible comments come from?

There comes a time when the tongue-in-cheek comments have to stop and be serious for a time! You read posts on here and you suddenly realise what a bunch of w@nkers we are! And Bill Williams is proved right, us supporters know nothing about football! Ok so being serious was a one off!

Wasn't only the pen though was it. Their defence seemed to think that the bear hug is an acceptable way to prevent your opponent getting the ball and the referee was happy to accommodate then, at the same time penalizing any Stones player who so much as looked at an opponent. And what's more it happens pretty much every week. It's about time referees stopped penalizing us just because we have big crowds and treat both teams the same.

Definite penalty, in fact we should perhaps count ourselves lucky Worgan stayed on the pitch. Thought the ref got it right with our first goal as well as most refs would have disallowed it, but Tom Phipp clearly got to the ball first. I know we weren't great yesterday but those highlights do show how many chances we created and on another day we could have had 5 or 6. We are still top of the league (although we aren't likely to be by the time our next league match comes around) and I refuse to accept things are that bad. I remember going to Ashford for a match against Tonbridge when we were fighting fr our Ryman Prem lives. We were beaten 3-0 without us creating a single chance, all 3 goals were scored by a player who is widely regarded as one of the best strikers in non league football. That man now wears the number 10 shirt of Maidstone United. We had two more people at the GS yesterday than they had at Welling v Luton in the first round of the FA cup and if you want an extra dose of positivity take a look on the Leiston forum and see how complimentary they are of the team, us, the pitch and the stadium. My only defence regarding the referee is the "Australian defence" - Camera angles are misleading and do not necessarily reflect the truth.
