Hate the hypocrisy and that we follow so gladly. Torture permitted by a western power in this day and age and we supported it utterly disgraceful after claiming to be the champions of the Geneva conventions etc. Just like the fairly appalling way we treated te catholics in Ireland down the ages. Wars are generally started by the rich and powerful to grab more wealth and power or protect what they have because they couldn't possibly make do with a little less. The day poor people stop listening to the nationlistic nosense and tell 'em to clutter off with their greed the day all out lives will improve.

All this stuff has gone on for years, nicking country's, land, people. Loads of us were at it, Spain and Portugal nicked south America (and what a great job they did....not) we nicked everything. French took parts of Africa and Canada. South Africa is still a dog's dinner along with other fouled up ideas and on and on. I blame ships.

I spent some time in Richmond, Virginia a couple of years ago. It played a massive part in the American war of independence and was the centre of all things southern. They have a museum dedicated to the history of the war and the slave trade up to that point. Absolutely fascinating to see but you get a massive suckered punch at the end. The last item is a set of robes from a grand master of the KKK. I was expecting it to be about 100 or so years old. It was about 30. It was taken from someone arrested in North Carolina.

They still live in their own world in the southern states. My aunt lives in n.Carolina, it's all cotton, peanuts and tobacco. Oh and an air force base the size of bromley borough.

I went to N.C. a few years before Richmond and totally agree. The only time I've seen so many mulletts in one place is in the Town End. A side from the mulletts there is a creek in Maggie Valley called Jonothan!
I also did a spot of white water rafting on the river they used in Deliverance.
Anyways back to history Richmond was part of the slave triangle. British ships would run empty to Africa, fill up with slaves, go to the Carribean, stock with goods, go to North America swap a bit then head back laden to the UK. There are three monuments to the trade, one in Richmond, Liverpool and Africa.

Behind the sending of ships you will almost certainly find a rich and greedy person who wants more and cannot be satisfied with the enormous wealth they already have. The plural of country is countries.
