MLR - I have to disagree......there are a number of clubs that allow drinking in the ground, Dulwich, Burgess Hill, Whitstable, Folkestone, to name but a few.
Skydweller.....quite why our cage is an embarrassment to you I don't know - the back of that stand which has the mesh fencing, used to be corrugated iron until we cut a large section out to let more light into the Clubhouse.
We had to put the mesh up to protect the Clubhouse windows, and about the same time we stopped allowing drinking all round the ground, so a compromise developed of allowing people to drink in that area, still watch the game, but not be able to throw a glass on the pitch.....in the unlikely event someone might want choose to do so!
Personally I think it works well!

skydwelller you have hit the nail on the head! Boothy and Welford scored goals for fun! No one else has! Both are better than ryman south as their career stats show but we don't play them together anymore! This season is about promotion, and you need goals to win games and Boothy (who is still our top scorer with 11 league goals) is being over looked for a partnership which in my opinion is unbalanced. Lets get back to basics! Shaun can't run around after every ball, he needs help! King has some skill but is easier to read than a Harry Potter book he is all left foot, show him in his right and we slow down and any momentum is gone. I agree he has scored 3 league goals but I think we would have scored 15 without him in the side. Where is our leader in the team putting heart and soul on the line? Today it was Timmy O, but we don't have anyone willing to put it on the line for me! Your Captain needs to be in the thick of it and the fact that we don't don't have a player at centre half or centre midfield worthy of captaincy is a major concern for me. Get back to playing football on a decent surface and trust those with experience and please stop shuffling the pack a settled side is a decent side!

maybe we should consider going back to basics and returning to the formula that was so successful at the beginning of the season (albeit without davisson ffs). give booth a run in the side playing alongside welford. the man was banging in goals for fun and while i appreciate he has since suffered fitness wise he seems completely frozen out at the moment for no good reason. woolery phillips olorunda and flisher in midfield... Bang on. It's not just the Booth factor here. Despite the fact Brown is clearly a very good player, he isn't a winger. Don't get me wrong, he does a job, but we lack the ability to play with proper width on both sides with the current formation. It seems from todays game the gameplan was affected as there was rarely an out ball to the right as naturally Brown was drifting towards the middle and therefore we become slightly predictable.

Seem to remember last seasons barren patch saw us change from previously neat passing football to lump it and hope. While results aren't as bad we certainly cant blame the surface this time round as visiting teams have managed to use it to good effect

Slightly off topic, but fair play to the fair minded Leatherhead Fans who've posted on this thread of woe for us. Makes me think so much more / better of you as people ( still don't really like your club though..... ).

The most important thing to remember is that battle commences when the ref blows the whistle to start the game, the battle is between 22 bodies on a lump of green(ish) ground and a load of voiceboxes stood around it, the battle finishes when the ref blows the final whistle. Anything outside of these boundarys is a discrace to the name of football (this includes throwing anything onto the pitch (exept insults) and opposing supporters. Being a longish term supporter who had his 7 year old nephew with him this behavour is an embarasment for football in general, for maidstone united football club in particular and to me personally.

Timmy O was fantastic , again. Hmm, in general, yes, but it was his misplaced pass that led directly to Leatherhead's equaliser. If we had gone in at half time one up, it may have been a different outcome (2 - 2 for example! ), because my amber tinted glasses had us on top for most of the match, but three defensive errors cost us the win. I'm hoping Humphreys' return will bring back the defensive stabilty we had before his injury.

...because my amber tinted glasses had us on top for most of the match... Eh? I presume there are some bits of these glasses that are painted black and you missed the three or four clear cut chances Leatherhead missed or the fact that they had a midfield
