Half the gate would have gone to Braintree. Plus bonuses, wages etc. would be naff all in reality

Had we gone up, next season would have cost us a lot more! At the start of the season most people were happy with the idea of a cup run and the play offs - not much liking the idea of the National League again. Getting close to promotion doesn't make it feel any better, but ultimately another year in the NLS may not be the worst, because we are (probably) not ready. Dorking and BW may not make next season any easier, or they could just implode. Who knows...

It's frustrating that we were beaten by a classic "smash and grab" performance. The penalty also appeared to be a dive. However, our main focus for next season should be improving our finishing. It's one aspect that consistently costs us points, despite often dominating matches where we create plenty of chances.
We’ve had an amazing year and I loved it.

Yeah, as you say, 20k today, maybe even a bit more from last Wednesday’s game, a nice wedge, presumably all unbudgeted for too I watched it on the telly. I thought how different their playing surface was to ours. The ball didn’t seem to quite have the same zip and bounce as we see at the Gallagher, maybe it’s got more ‘damping’ built into it, and the players seemed to cope better to, though some (actually quite a bit) of our passing was horrible and we do concede possession way too casually for my liking Been a helluva season and disappointed that’s it’s now over…certainly Disappointed not to be in NL next season…not so much

Disappointed to lose today but not that disappointed about missing out on promotion to the National League. Overall its been an outstanding season, imo the best ever. Bollocks to any idiots on facebook, George and his team are amazing.

It feels really wrong that the season is over to me.
We have played well and lost.
Hope the players don’t take it too hard

No question George will be gutted. It could have gone better today but this is football. Our lack of a single prolific goalscorer probably cost us in the end, when you think Worthing has a player who scored goals for fun all though the season. No doubt the right signings will be on George's agenda for 24/25.

Even more so considering it was George's first full season in management and on a limited budget as admitted by the owners.

I dont think our budget held us back, how many clubs this season would you say had a better budget than us? Can only be a couple ?!

Budget is always banded around as either an excuse or reason for success.
I think it was a reduced budget from last seasons but it will still have been a top budget for the league.

I don't know but according to interviews with the owners earlier in the season several, including relegated H&W. Then again they may have just been trying to limit expectations. Either way it has still been a great season despite today's result imo.

We probably had the 4/5th highest budget in this league.
Yeovil, Havant & dartford definitely had larger budgets than us (and two of them went down) Eastbourne, and possibly Torquay would have been similar to ourselves. So if you’re basing it off budget alone we finished probably about right.
Even Worthing have a bit of money behind them to be paying Pearce £1200 a week which just isn’t something we’d ever do at this level.
