Love George and what he is doing for the club, but having a public go at a spectator over his desire to see a bit of action in the second half was way over the top. He wouldn't do it publicly to a player, so by the same token that was inappropriate to a paying fan. Yes we got three points and sometimes you have to just win ugly. However, those sort of performances are best saved for away games. We were kicking towards a packed Genco in the first half, but there was absolutely no drumming or chanting. Why? Because the team gave them nothing cheer about. The first shot on goal took 31 minutes and the resulting corner went out for a throw. And that was it, for the whole first half. It was boring, plain and simple and that is no way to play in front of home fans, regardless of injuries and so on. Weston clearly were not posing a threat, but why did we do do much sideways and back to the keeper passing. Possession football is one thing, but we just didn't look interested in putting them under any sort of pressure and that is not what you should be doing at home. The extra 400+ folk who came yesterday will not be coming back next time on that showing. On the bright side Tanga put in another good shift, Kyprianou showed why he is so important to the team and likewise Greenidge. Indeed, they all put in plenty of effort as usual, but we really need to have more of a go at home.

It wasn't an entertaining game, far from it, we didn't do a lot, WSM didn't do a lot, it was just "one of them!", but we won... stop flippin moaning...

He wouldn't do it publicly to a player - You obviously missed the FA Cup game away to Torquay and Aransibia No drumming/Chanting because the team gave them nothing to cheer about - really there have been games in the past where we have been 3-0 down and we've been singing and chanting, sometimes the singing/chanting by the fans can have a positive affect on the players as well, but appears to be flat game flat fans so neither one trying to pick the other up. It can work both ways sometimes a player will do something to fire the crowd up and get them singing other times the fans need to step up and get singing and behind the players to lift them up.

Itwas not an entertaining game and the tactic of getting to the half way line and then passing backwards until it reaches the keeper who then boots it to our small forward who is flanked by 2 giant defenders is not good. What we are missing is 2 good wingers who can be fed from midfield and run at the defenders and create that excitement. We do not have those wingers so George has to play the hand he has got. As proof of what we need, Reynolds lifted the side when he came on.

Frustrating for George with the support quiet. Its easy enough to shout and applaud when the team are playing well and winning. But thats not when the team need it. Yesterday was a time when the team needed lifting and support was found wanting. I have no problem with George having a go at a moaner. But i just wish the club would communicate better on the injury front with players. At the mo we have to rely too much on rumour and gossip

The club doesn't need supporters like George was moaning at. Please do us all a favour and stay away. I’m going out on a limb here to disagree. It was an over reaction to an innocuous remark no worse than I hear around me dozens of times every time a pass goes astray or shot goes miles wide. I’ve probably muttered “sort them out George” under my breath a hundred times. He didn’t make wanker signs at away fans, or throw something, or threaten physical violence, or throw a smoke bomb, or clamber over the barrier, or flash the name of a dead man on his phone, or organise a bus full of drunken teenagers, or injure several people invading the pitch, or drunkenly dance up and down the yellow hatching, or stand on a wall at an away game clutching his groin, or stand at the front like that bloke from 1990s Last Night of the Proms thinking he’s conducting the orchestra, or any of the other ridiculous behaviour we are expected to tolerate week in week out because “it’s not doing any harm”. Shortly afterwards he walked out humiliated, possibly never to return. You can’t bellow aggressively at paying customers because they said something you disagree with. George should now seek him out and offer a friendly reconciliation. I never publicly criticise the manager or players, but the reaction was completely over the top and not something we want to see on a regular basis. Lloyd Hume was like that every game and even offered me outside once and it was only Alan Walker who reminded him that I was about a foot taller and 12 Stone heavier and all i had to do was sit on him .

My third game this season as a neutral though very much cheering the Stones. A few thoughts
Good crowd though very quiet first half. Lots of kids which is encouraging. Poor game. Both teams seemed happy to pass it around and back for 90 mins. In fairness, thought Weston the better team first half, especially their number 11. Has not put me off and will try and get down easter Monday.
My major gripe was in the spitfire Lounge. 2 blokes in front of me in the queue ordered 2 pints and 6 (six) hot chocolate drinks which took ages to make. They stood there chatting and laughing whilst the folk behind where getting quite pissed off.
Enjoyed the day.

I’m not sure what George did is ok. Yes we want to support the team but you have to be able to voice your opinions without that agreesive response.

Great manager Great club Great supporters, except for those who George called out. Apparently, George told a nobody that he can stay away in future. Sounds like good advice to me As a club, we've struggled since Jay was sacked to have the right gel between the fans and the squad/management. Then George comes along and over 2 seasons does the hearts 'n minds thing and is a National hero for what he's achieved.

Talking to my hairdresser this afternoon and he'd been to see Tonbridge v Truro and described a game exactly the same as ours v Weston. Another wasted opportunity in terms of attracting new folk to non league football then.
