We were very lucky it happened whilst Ann Widdecombe was still our MP, I can't imagine Helen Grant would have done anything useful. Indeed, whatever your opinion of her politics, Anne Widdecombe was a very fine constituency MP. Yes indeed, my own family has personal experience of her being a great constituency MP in relation to a matter that needed sorting out.

The council has gone a long way this week to repairing its damage reputation after years of not helping the club come back to the town (more than two decades). It was after all only thanks to Ann Widdecombe kicking arse that we got the JWW site. We cannot blame the current councillors for the sins of their awful predecessors so I applaud them for walking the walk as well as talking the talk so to speak. We were very lucky it happened whilst Ann Widdecombe was still our MP, I can't imagine Helen Grant would have done anything useful.

jdl should stick to tedious stats. Just to quash any false myths. You don't need a cathedral to be a city. Similarly, you don't become a city just by having a cathedral, e.g. Arundel Like the former city of Rochester for example

Agree with the sentiment that our midfield is non-existent at the moment.
I'm also tired of seeing Lee Worgan endlessly hoofing aimless balls forward (and always to his left). Where is the sense in hitting high balls for someone as short as Ter Horst to try to get on the end of, whilst every other player on their team is towering over him? Apparently there is no plan B.
It was embarassing, but we have had this coming at home for a while when you consider our recent struggles in home games against teams struggling near the bottom of the table (not to mention needing a last gasp equaliser to take Enfield to a replay).
However, when all is said and done, I would still have rather watched the Stones (however awful) than stay in tonight.

Or option 4, rip up the pitch and get some fuckin grass!! *sigh* Yes, why has nobody thought of that before... Because it throws the whole business plan out of the window to appease a stupid rule.

Given all the supporters at the away games are likely to attend the home games too, I wonder why that is? Because they are more dispersed around the ground? or because there is usually insufficient away supporters at JWW to generate back and forth chants? Or maybe not all the home supporters take part in cheering an clapping etc etc. It is common knowledge that some dislike the idea of clapping. We could make the JWW an absolute fortress where teams an fans detest visiting if we all become UNITED. I feel like the sudden raising in volume right at the death near Chester had a cause and effect on that very later winner coming at last.

I think it's fantastic that we have already kept the same amount of league clean sheets (6) as what we managed in the whole of last season. That just shows that with Kevin Lokko leaving, we have been able to replace him with 2 and let's face it better centre backs. Although we can't forget Mr Worgan who sounded like he had yet another blinder yesterday. Best keeper in the National League without a doubt! Absolutely amazing that not that long ago some fools were questioning Lee,s ability in this league. Agree. Short memories.

Well if that works, then fine, and I agree the club wouldn't countenance fraud. Which was why my suggestion was that players, without conferring, could perhaps underperform collectively. What's disgusting are the rules. I wouldn't feel it was 'disgusting behaviour' to try to get out of such an unfair relegation situation. Can't agree with that at all, and I'm surprised any real supporter would even suggest it. I simply don't want to see us both denied promotion and unfairly relegated due to off the field politics, just as we were denied promotion in 83-84 and the chance of watching potentially 5 years worth of League Football (before we finally got there whilst Thompson was trashing our club). That is all. My lifespan is only so long. I can't fully enjoy our good form at the moment, because of the worry of this huge black cloud of off-field shenanigans hanging over us like a sword of Damocles.

Said it before and I,ll say it again, it,s a shame we cannot get the same volume of support at home games as we do at away games. Given the current rules regarding doing too well with 3G pitches resulting in the punishment of relegation, does anyone else think that we should start throwing matches towards the end of the season if we are still up near the top to avoid being relegated? I don't mean anything officially spoken of or orchestrated of course, that would have the danger of coming out and resulting in a worse punishment. But maybe a few of the players would have the common sense to miss a few tackles, be second to the ball, forget to mark someone, be a bit slow blocking that shot, accidentally put through their own net once or twice, or blaze that shot at an open goal high over the bar. There would plenty of opportunities to manipulate league results in our opponents favour to lower our league position before it was too late to avoid the worse fate of being relegated for the crime of doing too well whilst having a 3G pitch (I don't say doing to well ON a 3G pitch, because we seem to play better away from it at the moment). I'd rather that we were cleverly fraudulent, than virtuously stupid in 'doing the right thing' and getting relegated for our honesty. Not required if the planning permission isn't in place for the ground expansion as we won't be eligible for the playoffs anyway. Anyway the idea of throwing matches is abhorrent. There's no way the club would countenance such disgusting behaviour. They will fight it in court if it happens.

I've got mixed feelings about this, the trial screen we had I thought was a waste of money and didn't add much to our experience. In fact the brightness was distracting. The ads were distracting and when I wanted to know the score or time I remember having to squint. I mean, the score and time weren't front and centre when they were being displayed. I would have much rather us invest in a simpler display like Ebbsfleet or Tranmere Rovers have. I can't think of any time I have ever wanted to know the score at a football match I was attending. Can't ever think of an occassion where I have lost track of it. I have sometimes vaguely wondered how long there is to go/when the half kicked off etc. If it isn't going to be showing anything other than the score, the time and the sponsors ads, I assume the main point of it will be to generate money from sponsors, which, if it pays for the screen and brings extra money into the club on top of that, can only be a good thing (even though I also don't particularly want the distraction of it).
