Details? Conditions? Clauses? Price? Etc. The vote was in principal to sell the land, with exact details to be negotiated later with the club. There was a suggestion from one councillor that a clawback should be incorporated that means if we ever sell up in the future, the council get first refusal to take the land back. This would be to safeguard the land from having anything horrible put on it at some future date. This suggestion wasn't terribly popular amongst the other council members and it may not happen. Terry was saying on Stones Live a couple of weeks back that the stadium already has various covenants including clawbacks on it, and I don't think he would like another one but if that gets the job done I'd imagine the club will accept it. All in all a great night, only one councillor voted against the proposal and so common sense prevailed. The committee accepted that the good the club does for the community, plus the business it brings into the town, far outweighed the fact it is generally against council policy to sell off 'strategic' land rather than lease it. A big 'well done' to our fans who attended, they sat there in respectful silence during the meeting. A great advert for the club.

Yes was there, good result for the club and nice to have some friends on the council who obviously come to some games, onward and upwards for the stones.

Oliver Ash in his recent Blog indicated they were prepared to accept a clawback clause so if one is included it should not cause a problem.

Be intersting to see what sort of clawback clause it would be to get a 2 metre wide finger of land that to anyone other than us would be pretty worthless. Unless you want to build a 2 metre wide block of riverside apartments or a skinny MFI

Unless you want to build a 2 metre wide block of riverside apartments or a skinny MFI I think it's more to do with keeping a buffer zone between the stadium and the footpath so if we outgrow it and sell up, they don't end up with development right up to the river bank.

Excellent news! Our route to the Premier League is clearing, 1 obstacle at a time. Once we get the 3G/4G problem sorted I can see us playing West Ham in the Championship in 3-5years time.
Here's to Dreaming

What could be worse than a hotel that looks like a pile of bog rolls and a load of commercial sheds!

Their concern seemed to be to protect the public right of way along the eastern bank which is perfectly understandable.
