Going to be right opposite our seats - hope it's not going to be as bright as the last one!
And I bet the time will still mysteriously stop at 45 and 90 minutes...

Thinking about that - what we need is the 'clock stop' approach they use in American 'football'. Every time there is a delay, the clock is halted until play resumes - plus, in our case, the ref could add extra minutes or wind the clock back (?) to make up for time wasting.
With modern technology and refs wired up, this shouldn't be too difficult. And time wasting will practically disappear!

They're not allowed to continue showing the time at the end of each 45 minutes. I think we got a reprimand for doing so when we had the screen on trial.

And yet the TV companies do so - money talks!

And yet the TV companies do so - money talks! The difference is they're not doing it live at the game.

I've got mixed feelings about this, the trial screen we had I thought was a waste of money and didn't add much to our experience. In fact the brightness was distracting. The ads were distracting and when I wanted to know the score or time I remember having to squint. I mean, the score and time weren't front and centre when they were being displayed. I would have much rather us invest in a simpler display like Ebbsfleet or Tranmere Rovers have.

Time wasting wouldn't practically disappear, you can still break up a team's momentum very effectively with time wasting. It isn't 'just' about running the clock down.

Can't ever think of an occassion where I have lost track of it. I have sometimes vaguely wondered how long there is to go/when the half kicked off etc. If it isn't going to be showing anything other than the score, the time and the sponsors ads, I assume the main point of it will be to generate money from sponsors, which, if it pays for the screen and brings extra money into the club on top of that, can only be a good thing (even though I also don't particularly want the distraction of it).

I just hope we don't use the same supplier as Torquay. I'm convinced that their clock wasn't going fast enough in the second half yesterday.

Yes what a terrible idea for the club to invest in something that will pay for itself and over time bring in revenue.
