How long before other clubs take an interest in signing Levi Amantchi?

How long before other clubs take an interest in signing Levi Amantchi? That was my first game since Aveley but not a lot has changed about him as a player: he still can't control the ball most of the time, isn't very useful in the air and isn't a focal point up front. However, he seems to have the knack of scoring goals and he made the finish on Saturday look at lot easier than it was. It's a nice knack to have but I wonder whether his all round game is good enough to go higher than this.

Credit to Levi for his hot streak, but why does it look to me that he scores more by luck than judgement (Saturday's goal excepted)? Whatever his secret, keep it coming!

Nobody is asking the club to deliberately lose games. It’s just not the end of the world if we lose one now and again. That way lies Facebook group madness. But you don’t want promotion. So if we’re a point behind the leaders with one game to play, how do you ensure we don’t go up. We can’t necessarily rely on them to win so we have to lose. Not only that but we then have to lose in the playoffs as well. So it could end up being a choice between promotion or deliberately losing a game.

How long before other clubs take an interest in signing Levi Amantchi? Id agree with bear. His goals will get people looking at him but when they do they’ll see a striker with a good eye for goal, right place right time, but at this level for a reason

We won't deliberately lose a game. That would be unlawful.
But we are very likely to accidentally lose the odd match or so, that will have the same end result.

I realise we will lose from time to time but so will others. The only way to guarantee avoiding promotion is to lose more than others do. That implies a level of intent which is my main objection to the original post. If someone doesn’t want promotion then logically they must want us to lose more than our rivals. If you ever want us to lose how can you call yourself a supporter.

It's def not just about losing matches. The way the points system is skewed, the rewards for drawing are much closer to losing than winning. So we could just as easily miss out on promotion by drawing too many matches like Saturday.

Its not a crime to think differently to others. Personally I much prefer supporting the Stones playing in the nls, getting to attend away matches much more often, having a beer watching the match, enjoying meeting and mixing with other supporters. Winning games helps too. I don't think that makes me a bad supporter.

I too prefer the NS, but I also enjoy a promotion season and the excitement of playing in a new division. But none of that really matters - no one goes into a football game (owner, manager, player or supporter) without wanting to win. No one joins a league or division without wanting to do their best. No one is going to throw a game so they don't win a league (apart from anything else, it's illegal and all sorts of shit would hit the fan if it was even suspected). Such talk is just daft. We happen to support a very good non-league club that is more than capable of getting into the NL, but, with the way the Conference/NL has changed over the years (watch this, if you doubt it: www.youtube.com/watch?v=LGyMHVhHjVg ), we find it very difficult to stay there. That's just how things are, there's bugger all we can do about it. All we can do is support the team and enjoy the good times.

It's not the losing or winning that really matters - unless you're desperate for the points. What matters is how you play. I didn't like seeing us throw 2 perfectly achievable points on Saturday, but what really pissed me off was the way we played, after showing such progress and playing so well in recent games. I went to the game expecting us to win, of course, but I also went expecting to see a talented side run rings round a mediocre one, and enjoy only the third home game I've seen this season.

Yes it was a shame. I think you are being more than a shade harsh on Farnborough who are doing well enough and on the right side of mid- table. But I agree the game was pretty turgid (apart from the last 15 minutes) and no great joy to watch. The match report and review were rather more positive, but hey we are just the paying punters, what do we know ?

A couple of things from that game that I forgot:
Firstly, Farnborough had names on their shirts! Nice big, easy to read names too (unlike a certain NL club last season...). So, not just squad numbers (which seems to be a 'thing' this season), but now also names in the NS? Can we have them too, please, MUFC? Large, bold, font too, please! At the rate I'm going, it will be mid-March before I've worked out who all the players are!
Secondly - the clock kept going into extra time! I've been moaning about it not doing that since 2012, and now it suddenly does it, and no bugger seems to notice!!

Unless the rules have changed that was a mistake. It’s supposed to stop at 45 and 90. As far as names on shirts is concerned , I think it’s a bit billy big bollocks at this level.
