Well let's have a bit of fun and find out what you all truly feel about the club. As a fair percentage of the forum already have us relegated before playing our first game I ask them, and everyone else, What if we are relegated this season ,how would you feel? Would a step backwards cause to to stop watching the Stones? Would a step backwards damage the club in any way? How would you feel if both Tonbridge and Chatham were laughing at us because they are in a higher league?
I will start,if we were relegated this season I would be very despondent as I've given 100% of my faith to George and relegation would make me reconsider if I truly know anything about football at all. Would I stop watching us in the Isthmian? No,not at all. The only time i will stop watching us is if we get to the EFL. Would the club be damaged? Relegation could signal another loss making season which will hurt the club. Any potential buyers would want the club at much reduced price than T&0 are asking. Should we end up below Chatham and Tonbridge then I think I'm mature enough to stomach the inevitable piss taking though it maybe incredibly hard living in Tonbridge to take it day in and day out but I suppose if you dish it out,as I do on a regular basis, you should have no complaints when it's given back.
Anyway as I say this is just for fun and I think we will do ok this season, certainly top 10. Right over to you.

I think those who have us relegated already are exactly the ones who would desert the club if we were relegated. Personally, Isthmian Premier was probably the most fun season in the last decade, and I couldn’t give a monkeys what Chatham or Tonbridge fans think of us.

I would feel a little bit embarrassed and despondent.
Of course I’d still watch the club.
I’d be a little annoyed that Chatham and Tonbridge fans were laughing at us / me. I know about 4. Know a few more Ebbsfleet and Gillingham ones but it is what it is. I was used to that from 1992 onwards.
It would damage the Club in the short term but as we align our budget with the expected incomings I think it would just be the non footballing side that would be most affected. We might need to let a few staff go which is a shame as most are heavily invested in the club.
We’d be back. We’d enjoy winning a lot. The club is forever not just a season.

Except the question is misplaced.
If the starting point is 'we're going down'.
Not a chance. Failure for George this season would be a mid table finish.
The play-offs is a must and that is what I expect.
As for Tonbridge, Jay has done well and if he manages top half next season, then that would be a result.
No so sure about Chatham. They are splashing the cash alright, but most of their players are peaking out in terms of age and ability. The club should do well enough and could be around the play-offs, but not really NLS quality imo.

But there are people on this forum who think we will go down purely because our keeper is only 5' 10" tall, pathetic I know. Now people are pain a state of panic when a team involving 12 triallists actually win a game. I am with you we will be top 10 easily. You used to call me a doom monger well you really should read some of the other posts they are far gloomily than mine.

No onw said we will be relegated because we currently have a short keeper, stop talking shit. We will struggle to finish in a playoff spot with a short keeper, thats for sure. As for next season, if we get relegated.
I would stop going unless the club drops its prices!!!
No way an Isthmian level club should be charging any more than 10-12 quid a ticket.

I’m pretty sure if I could be arsed to trawl back through recent posts I could find at least a couple that mention relegation.

I am pretty sure if you look back through the several threads that encompassed this subject it was inferred several times. I said it tongue in cheek, because as far as I'm concerned his height is no problem.

At National South level we are a big club, with our resources (we will be the 3rd best supported team in this league, 3G money, beer money etc) we should at least be making the playoffs.
So as far as I'm concerned, if we don't make the playoffs we've had a bad season.

Don’t want to make the play offs, because I don’t want to return to that corrupt league any time soon.
Would gladly trade a top seven finish for a lucrative FA Cup run and chance to host a Premier League club.
The money and publicity would do 100 times more good than losing in the play offs.

Well I don't turn up anywhere as religiously as I used to but, given I watched us play in front of crowds of 30 at the Mormon church ground and travelled an 3/4 hour to do so, I reckon I'd handle us playing in the Isthmian. I don't think this is a reaistic question because I doubt we will be at the wrong end of the table. However, you never know. I think a price of £25 would be fair to watch us in the Isthmian
