Though I haven't been able to get to see any games yet the viewpoint of others that have are as follows. Our new super robust defensive unit cannot defend. Our new creative midfield are all called Trialist and our goalscorers are non existent. Whisper it quietly,PANIC.

This is all part of the plan. We are so sh*t that the bookies put us at 100:1 to win the league. We lump on a barrow load of dosh and sign 3 Premier league quality players and the winnings pays for them.

Good to see that supporters are staying calm and patient despite the team showing such little promise so far.
Performances looking disjointed, no free flowing football, very ordinary midfield and lacking punch up front
Plenty of scope for improvement which we will surely see, very soon.
The new season beckons, it's all looking very encouraging.
No need to panic at all.

Last time i looked we are joint top in the division. Pre Season games are just about fitness and in our case helping all the new players to gel. As for the triallists how are the Management going to assess their potential other than in a semi competitive match against decent opponents Please give the team time and see what they are like at the start of the league season.

Fair points if it weren't for the fact that even if we ignore team play, fitness and organisation and just look at individual performances/abilities on last night's match (and most of the other three games so far) my match report of "woeful" worryingly still applies.

Essentially this. Out of the players I’ve seen so far, very few have made me think they have something about them. Corne, Hoyte, and Allen perhaps, with maybe Flashes from Justin...but overall balance of the team concerns me with a slow uncreative midfield and an attack that dosent even get a shot on target mostly

I think it is fair to say that at this stage of pre season, the team is performing at a significantly lower level compared to last season. No need to panic though, we are reliably advised that it all counts for nothing at this stage. Happy with the appointment of George as captain.

It’s only pre season and no need to worry yet but it seems that we do not have a goal scorer this season. Hope I’m wrong and someone steps up but it seems we are a few players short now. We need a couple more midfielders and another striker. From now on we need to stop playing trialists and play players that will be there this season. They need to gel on the pitch and playing trialists won’t help. Looking forward to the season but it’s not going to be an easy one. If we get play offs then it will be a good season.

I guess it’s a double edged sword in pre season, on one hand fitness is low and at the same time we are playing loads of games and training has been all about fitness! The players must be knackered! Looking at the individuals we have in defence I’m sure once a settled back four is found that will prove to be a good base to build a season on. I think we have enough wide players also. We are clearly light in the middle of the park as per usual! Up front with Embury out for a while and a young striker from the league below and another striker with a poor scoring record from above we need to stretch what ever budget we have left for two players of quality. Very easy for me to say, but we will have that last minute.com player pool who were holding out for league clubs that could do a job for us. How many players do we reckon were the managers top targets in each position when they made their list!!? Probably the early ones that looked so good like Cole, Knight and maybe a couple of others. Blind Optimism has been replaced with a reality check for me!

Anyone who expects us to be a effective team after a full summer rebuild is deluded it will most likely take at least until mid September before we could hope to see them fully familiarised with each other and to get a full grasp of what's expected by the management.
These hissy fits in July about the coming season are ridiculous. Too many worriers in our fan base that think you can flick some sort of magic switch and boom success.
Once partnerships etc develop things will improve. We know only too well how too many player changes go from last season and our last relegation before that was the same. For now it's about looking at as many as you can before finalising the squad. They will improve but not immediately. I reckon a top ten finish due to a slow start

appreciating that its pre-season/easy opposition/we're in a lower league/early days /warm weather ;but i am sure you will be delighted to hear that Jack Richards is impressing at margate so far ,and whereas we used to be a team of maidstone 'old boys' ,we are now a team of maidstone ex-young boys recruited from JS1's knowledge of maidstone youth teams in his days

Just watched the low lights of the game!!
Pennell for one of the goals looked like he had the touch of a man who has never seen a game of football, Clovis looked like he had been shot with a tranquilliser dart just before the other goal and number 10 Ayuk well 🙄
I don’t know if I should be worried, or more optimistic, or disheartened or what!!
Just one win in pre season would be very welcome.

Maybe we should have stuck with the usual beatable lower league teams; likes of Sevenoaks and Bearsted. Chatham's new pitch would have been interesting, or K Sports. Playing teams from the division we just fell out of is a bit dispiriting.
