I agree with what has been said previously. Defence looks strong. I was impressed with Pennell and Hoyte. As for strikers? Ummmm! Very early days though. Corne and Amaluzor impressed also. Anyone know the name of the triallist wearing number 10? I thought he was very interesting!

Didn't recognise the game I went and saw from the Match Report on the OS. Bromley, not unsurprisingly, looked better and stronger than us for almost all the game. Once again our midfield only looked half decent when the 'academy lads' came on and ran around a lot, like the performance at Herne Bay.
Can't remember us really bothering either of their keepers that much whilst Cole had a fair bit to do.
According to the OS the score was 2-0 yet no mention of Bromley's second goal.

Was it a good save cousins made in the first half from a shot from the left side, when we could have scored, or was it blocked? and in the 2nd half when olutade should have had a better chance if his first touch wasn't so poor, still got the shot off and when the keeper came out and blocked it for a corner,

Havant did well today in front of a 3.5k strong crowd falling to portsmouth 2-1 in what apparently was a balanced game.
We really need to hit the ground running against Dover as 4 games in we should start to see more of how the team is coming along and if any of our players have actually anything about them (looking at our strikers here, as so far no marks for them)

I wouldn't get your hopes up. The way things are looking at the moment, it's going to be a hard August.
We have to trust JS2 still has what it takes, and he will build a team to get us in the play-offs, but I can't see it happening quickly.
And before the slagging starts, this is not pessimism, just looking realistically at the facts. You don't rebuild a team from scratch, on a reduced budget, and expect miracles.

As was pointed out to me in the Curry House last night, we play 8 league games in the month of August 2019. We could be out of this league before we get sorted...
Last upheaval this big was prior to the first Kent League Season in 2001 / 02 …..

Sounds like everyone is panicking already. Right from the very off the Havant summer signings (especially compared to the slowness of ours) put them as favourites, and we will have a tough job outdoing them, but lets not panic until at least half way through August and we see how the ream is shaping up!

Thought the Bromley game was quite entertaining for a pre-season. Matched them in the first half but noticeably didn't do much in the second apart from Olutade, who should have done better.
I thought Cole, Elokobi, Corne and Amaluzor looked good, although the latter seems to play on the right in the hope, I assume, he can cut in on his left but too often gets crowded out and there is no end product.
Others not really in it and a few I did wonder about despite the apparent lack of fitness and time together. However, Bromley are a good side and given their signings, they are in contention for the NL play-offs I would think.
