Is it worth winning at Salford?
Stockport County away awaits the winners. Great for Salford and Stockport. Couldn't be worse for us! Lets be honest though. I wrote off us seeing the next round the minute the Salford draw was made.
I just hope Salford put out their reserves tomorrow night - then we may drag them down to Kent for a midweek replay at least.

The only positive I could see from this tie is that it gives JS a chance to see what he can do with the squad whilst having no impact on our league standings.

A No we need out of this competition now if we are going to fight the good fight with relegation we do not need the distractions this season and we certainly don't need a replay.

I know what you are saying, but a home FAT tie is also a welcome break from the pressures of the League, gives match practice to squad members, and is another game at JWW for home fans. Its these up North away fixtures that are the pain, as are KSC games we don't give a rats *rse about winning. Unless that's changed of course, and we actually want to win the KSC this year...........................

It seems to revolve around the word "winning". Is this some strange new concept our new management team have brought with them and trying to introduce it here?
Not sure I hold with these fancy ways from the city!

Or, of course, both teams might agree to this game going straight to extra-time/penalties and get it over and done with?

Not that I know what the FAT rules are - do we have to have replays? Actually it looks like Salford are taking this seriously, so I predict, based on past form, a 3-1 defeat with our consolation goal coming in the last ten minutes once we are well beaten. Unless JS and HH have done some magic, that is, and we scrape a 2-2 or something even crazier!

In the fa cup and the trophy if both teams agree to it they can get it over and done with in 1 game.

Shame we wont get much FAT at the JWW though as Stockport may also be a lets get it done on the day game, given the travelling distances.

Surely Salford will play some forwards, or don't you think they'll need them? Probably not, but hoping it will be the game where with surprise tactics we suddenly get lucky... If I was Jack Richards, I'd probably feel pretty fed up. Still can't start when we have no other forwards....
