I know I’ve mentioned it elsewhere, but l think this site is really worth reading. And not just because it features one of my photos! bit.ly/2HUdPLZ. This is why the final is important to us.

Disagree (slightly), not just about the final, but a brilliant all round history of the Club. Deserves a formal, printed setting. Something to go in the club shop maybe? There's more than a few who would buy one, methinks

Wonderful photos. Bits of the old ground I'd not seen for 30+ years. Thanks for sharing.

A great read. Took me back to my first game in October 1962 which had Mike Candey and Dave Sadler in it. Only saw them in the team a couple more times. Remember well the Kent Senior Cup Final at Priestfield in 1966. Continued supporting (home and away games) in those dreadful late 1960s seasons. For my first game, I stood on Critics Corner. In later years, it was the Scotsman Stand that became the favourite place to watch.

I don't think you remember it that well! 1966 was the two legged final versus Ramsgate, where we won the second leg 3 - 1 (as described in the article), to win 4 - 2 on aggregate. I must have seen more KSC finals in my time, but 1966 is the only one that sticks in my mind - unril tonight perhaps!

Aha... it was two years previously that I must have been at the Senior Cup Final. Like you, I've had my bus pass for years!

So we are OFFICIALLY the best side in Kent (we knew that already surely?)
However on the downside - still can't score.
(Had hoped to be there - but sadly couldn't)

In other news - some blokes vaguely associated with a Northern place heavily associated with the slave trade apparently beat a team vaguely associated with the "Nation" (was it ever?) that suppressed European (& more importantly British) citizens over a Millennium ago.
Why oh why oh why oh why does the BBC choose to focus on this event rather than the obviously more profound realignment of supremacy in the Garden of England?

Full credit to Folkestone who played well. But we were poor and very lucky to get to penalties. It's strange watching us play badly without the tension of a league game. Jay has a lot of work to do.

You didn't miss anything. Stones dropped 2 levels of performance overall in a disappointing display. Midfield with Prestedge and Reason just seemed so slow and cumbersome. Jack Paxman easily our best player was subbed in second half and replaced by Phillips who was pretty anonymous on the night. Another below par effort from Loza. Decent enough efforts up front by Wraight and Coker but nothing special. Defence sound enough but thought Seth had a mare. But at least we knew how to take penalties !
