From my angle in the corner of the Town End (left side) it was nailed on, but it will be a while before I can bear to look at the highlights to confirm or retract my opinion... You may still be of the opinion that it was a penalty. You may not think it was nailed on though

Having just watched the highlights, it is completely clear to me that not only was Delano pushed over for a penalty in the second half, the ref had a clear sight of the incident, meaning themaidstone was completely vindicated in his comments. We can only hope we don't have that ref any time again soon: like the next 500 years.

Well we will have to all agree to disagree

There's no have to about it.
It would be better if we could all agree that it was a nailed on penalty

It is of course your right to keep siding with referees, no matter how appalling their performances
but there is no particular virtue in being obstinate for its own sake
How about trying "It wasn't cos I got it...erm...wrong".

One wonders if the issue is a case of 'most refs at this level are crap', or 'why do so many refs not like us'? When we moved into the Conference South, it was clear that other sides, especially those with former league players, were somewhat 'professional' in their ability to both con the ref and get away with niggling fouls. It was just as noticeable last season, though new players at the G are showing they know how to fall over when given a nudge. However, what we saw v Orient and Dover was blatent in the extreme, while referees consistent unwillingness/inability to stop the constant arm/shirt pulling in pretty much all games is downright annoying. There is also the foul of 'making a back' which we seem to get penalised for far more often than the opposition. You know the one I mean - their player goes over the top of ours from behind, yet we get penalised, even though our player is doing nothing more than stand his ground. Clearly something refs are told to do because it happens so often. Can anyone explain?

Blatantly holding players back, shirt tugging, pushing, pulling, jumping on top of players (our fault, apparently...) - and getting away with EVERYTHING. And that's without even mentioning the clear penalties. The guy who shook the ref's hand as he sauntered across the pitch will dine out on that story for ever. I've usually calmed down after a game by the second day, but I am STILL pissed off about that one.

To make it worse, N'Gala got sent off in the 6th minute today, presumably considerably easing Bromley's passage to a 1 - 0 win - and possibly their bruises too...

I didn't get it wrong. Show me something that looks like a nailed on penalty and I'll say that was a nailed on penalty.

Why should I ignore a qualified referee with a good view and then take the word of Orient supporters? I've looked at it on playback and it is not a nailed on penalty.

100% with all those I have spoken to and that is both Stones and Orient supporters The referee is undoubtedly qualified but is fallible and on this occasion got it wrong, big time ! Why should you want to side with a decision that was just plain 'barking' ? Perhaps you should look more carefully at the replay as contact in the box is crystal clear Pretty obvious it was a stone bonker penalty or if you like 'nailed on '

Jesus whatever happened to the ref being in charge of a game, the golden rule I used to teach the kids as they started playing club football, is the ref is always in charge an always play to the whistle. Yes a ref is only human an will make mistakes, because sadly he does not have the advantage of replays, over the course of a season we will win some an lose some.
