Doesn't appear to be any home advantage but is it down to the amount of noise from supporters ? The negative stuff we overhear at home matches simply doesn't travel away. Does this really affect players when converting chances into goals ? Unlikely !

This post is a croc of shit. Why is all of our woes put firmly at the door of the main stand?? Let’s get it right Bar a fairly small group singing in the new stand who do a great job btw the rest of the support in that stand make not much more noise than the main stand. I sit in the main stand so am qualified to comment on the moaners and those who can’t take a bit of atmosphere. Your point “bar a fairly small few” is my pint exactly and on top of that people moan. So where is our home advantage? Yes there are moaners in the main stand but nowhere near as many as the oh so superior EE inhabitants try to make out. Also, as has been pointed out, and it used to be true of the town end as well, all the atmosphere is generated by about 50 people who congregate mainly at the back directly behind the goal, and whatever the claim, yesterday they didn't wake up until well into the second half. And when moaning about the lack of chanting from the main stand, you also need to consider the demographic. The majority of us are getting on a bit, and chanting is by and large a young man's game. There was noise from the main stand yesterday, in the form of rhythmic clapping in time with the chants from the EE. Some people just have a massive downer on those of us who prefer to sit down to watch football.

Was a good game yesterday bit ridiculous referring from Sam Allison as usual. Played some good stuff. Could of won by a landslide if the chances were put away but when the chances go a miss the main stand etc start getting on the players backs, same old...
Is the 3G not as slick as the grass away from home? Are teams coming to just frustrate for a point? Does the negativity get to the players? Home form at this rate will see us missing out on the play offs I predict.

I sit in the main stand and never hear all this moaning we're constantly accused of. We're just as negative and positive as the fans I used to stand with in the TE and the fans I've stood with in the EE. We don't chant much because most of us are well over bloody 60!

Highlights are now online. Pigs was not offside. linkNot so clear cut for the 'offside' for Solihull's goal though.
Was near enough in line and thought it was tight despite comments to the assistant ref that it was blatant, one person going for three yards off. Think emotions were running high?
Didn't think that assistant referee had a good game, wasn't convinced that a couple of JTH's runs in the first half weren't offside including the one he clinically found the crossbar with.

JtH, Mr Pedant.
But it certainly was a clinical strike - imagine trying to get players to hit the goal exactly there during training!

Maybe the EE stand lyrists should use a Ozzie Osborne song and adapt it into a footballing one and then maybe DaveU would be the cheerleader from the Main Stand and lead all the other 60+ into singing along !! ... Would love to see the "Wild man" from the Main Stand give it large !! COYS.

Highlights are now online. Pigs was not offside. linkPigs was onside. He was fractionally ahead of the player next to him when the ball was kicked, but, as that still shows, there was another SM player (26?) playing him onside (check the stripes on the 3G). Pigs clearly felt he'd been onside! Their goal was deserved, they did what we so often don't and had someone running in on the other side of the goal to collect any rebounds. But why doesn't Worgs catch the ball? Overall, and although we weren't at our best, I think we were unlucky - as well as Pig's 'goal', there were at least two others that should have gone in. JtH's, of course, but also that one of Hines' towards the end when Pigs was running in and Zavon decides to go for glory.

If the lower case 't' is important to you then you should have noted that my forum name doesn't have a capital in it.
As for hitting the crossbar, isn't that what Torquay's halftime entertainment / competition is all about?
Of course, silly me, you wouldn't know as that's a reference to what happens at away games.

I'm happy to join in chanting if everyone else is, but I'm afraid I'm not a natural instigator.

His save was heading back the way it came, but bounced off his elbow when it hit the ground, and went the other way, into the path of the lurking (ie unmarked) forward.
