With less than a week to go, time to starting thinking about our next match, at last. First up, Sutton picked up a few yellow cards last night, so wonder if that will affect their team selection? Am sure Jay will have noted their stand in keeper had a bit of a howler with FGR's second goal and also that the latter's defence remains a bit fragile, even if they do score a lot as well. As to our team for Saturday, the boss has some difficult choices to make. Loza on top form against Southport, McCarthy did alright on his debut and big Maurice also knocking on the door. Add in Lewis and Flisher being available again and it will be interesting to see who starts. Barring any late injuries or illness, hard to see any of the following left out: Worgan Mills Lokko Twumasi Prestige Lewis Loza Pigott Flisher
So that leaves just two spaces for those already mentioned, plus BJT, Odubade, Phipps, etc. Equally, a good position to be in at this stage of the season and as Maurice says in his interview, competition for places has certainly made one or two players lift their games of late.

Surprising you left Paxo out of the automatic selection His game has lifted a gear since the new arrivals and for me he is a must play in a forward midfield role. Apart from his natural ball skill he has a great engine, getting through a huge amount of work Seems that a centre back slot may potentially be up for grabs but Lokko's selection looks assured

Oh dear, how could I both forget about Paxman and get the Beast's names wrong? Pax a nailed on starter you'd think, so even getting on the sub's bench will be an achievement for some.

Will jay change the defence? I guess we can keep guessing. As for 2 weeks off, it's given the management and players that time to study sutton, at depth and devise a game plan to try and beat them. We played them about this time last season didn't we? Wouldn't it be nice to reverse the end result of that match. It's about time we beat sutton, but got a feeling it may finish with a draw. But hopefully not!!!

But hopefully not!!! I fear it's got 'draw' all over it, but if there was ever a time when we should be going into a game against them thinking we can win, it should be now! We fear them because of last season, but a neutral looking at the game, comparing form, etc, would expect us to win. Add in home advantage (!), new stand opening, etc and it should be a pretty certain 3 points. But none of us actually believe this for one moment!

This next week can really go a long way to avoiding relegation. We have to believe we can win both of the games coming up and secure a vital six points. However, most of us already know that we will go into the last game of the season needing at least one point. Carlsberg don't make rollercoasters but if they did they'd probably ask Maidstone United how to make the best one in the world.
