Do they have a ' Traditional' Badge in those parts of the World for their team or have they also gone Retro?

I think the new badge/club crest look great .But i would rather see MAIDSTONE UNITED,rather than MUFC im sure this could be changed/ammended before its official and stuck on the shirt. Retro look and shape is good. It incorporates the three stones as footballs and the twist of the river .After a season or two this will instantly be recognizable as our badge and not the towns badge. Great from a marketing point .This is our own corporate branding,if we want to climb to higher levels its what we need to think of, Its what upwardly thinking football clubs do. Tottenham have a cockerel and Arsenal a cannon ,go and look how many times those two clubs have changed the simple basic styles,of a bird and a gun . Great post sir. Although I think spurs' cockeral that you speak of is actually a sick pigeon. Cock on a beach ball

If the feeling's towards the new badge are as negative as the feelings shown on this message board then the simple answer is ' don't buy products on which it appears ' Keep your old shirts , scarf's ect . This is a re branding that if it does not sell then it will not last . Despite all that is said on this forum come the new season there will be people falling over each other for the new shirt . Back in the early 70s this version of the badge ( similar version ) appeared on the all white home kit we wore at the time .

I think it makes a change from having the coat of arms for Maidstone borough council on the shirts. We have nothing to do with them and we now, whether you like it or not, our own identity. If you're all fussed about having a council crest have a look at the link and it's still a variation. I think someone has mentioned it but if Messrs Casey and Ash, after investing millions of their own money to bring us home decide they want to use this then crack on. From the reactions on here, twitter and facebook, without seeing it, I would have thought that they had put a picture of Myra Hindley on it. Get over yourselves and get used to it. www.ngw.nl/heraldrywiki/index.php?title=Maidstone

Does this mean shirts will be cheaper! Or better Quality! I find the white shirt very poor quality. So saving money on the badge could help! But macron are not renowned for Quality.

Not sure about the quality angle, but the money the club will receive from the sale of shirts will probably increase due to the less fussy badge design and so help to fund the club, so if it helps get more money into the club I'm all for it, if you love the club and want to support it, it would be churlish to not buy it, as JT has quite rightly said this badge has only been on our shirts for about 35 years prior to that we had a whole range of designs

Maidstone Rugby clubs badge is similar wonder if they will moan at Twickenham and start prattling on about we have a shit badge i wish i stayed at home!!!. BEST of all its a fantastic sign that fans of the champions have got f..all, else to moan about. And lets face it ,If our club badge was painted by Michelangelo, after being designed by the best award winning design company that money could buy ,most fans on this forum would still say its Jank.
