Buying players is one matter, but creating a team is another.

We were after Wills and close to signing him until Margate blew us away.
He was due to trial at Reading this week as well

They have Moss, Prior and Attwood all on contracts, one of them is not going to be happy at not playing when all fit. But in fairness, Brown is building a very strong squad down there. The question is, how long is it sustainable if things don't go right?

Pink Panther sums it up for me (taken from Kingstonian Forum...they're not happy)
I assume Terry Brown is based in the West London area judging from the clubs he played for and managed over a forty year period, all their new signings appear to be based in teh London area, and apparently they're going to be training at Kidbrook, in SE London, around 70 miles from Margate. This sort of expenditure clearly isn't sustainable on the sort of crowds they get, so they're clearly wholly reliant on this new benefactor/chairman's financial input, and if he leaves for whatever reason the whole edifice will surely collapse.
I don't think it sends out a great message to Margate's young local players in the reserve and youth teams (assuming they still run such teams) if they know that in the event of reaching first team standard the training sessions will involve a 70 miles each way trip to SE London. No doubt supporters of rival clubs will find Gate fans playing the jealously card when they're running away with the Premier Division in six months time, but frankly I'm not jealous and I don't want my club to be like that. I'd rather finish second to clubs like that than attempt to compete with their unsustainable spending. It all seems to be the exact opposite of community, loyalty and passion.
For a start, I feel they should concentrate on converting their ground from something resembling a bombsite into something resembling a proper modern football ground. The mind boggles at what their weekly wage bill must be.

Gutted they've signed Wills, was really hoping we'd bring him in especially with no news on Alex Brown's contract. Margate have also signed Brett Johnson, a defender from Woking so hopefully that's one less rival in for Paul Lorraine...saying that they'll prob go for him too.
Really hope we can move quickly and get a centre mid and forward in soon!

Maybe more about his confidence in his own ability than anything else as, no matter how much money Margate have to throw around, surely Reading could match that!!

Buying players is one matter, but creating a team is another. Very true. Brown brought in a lot of players with supposed higher pedigree when he arrived and I am advised that they finished lower in the League than when he took over

I can't wait to play them already, they're going to be clear favourites for the title with the players they're bringing in and it takes a bit of focus off us and hopefully the fact we're sticking with a lot of players that came so close, and arn't going out and buying an entire new squad in the hope it'll all gel together will work in our favour.

Takes the pressure off us. Winning prem will be expected with the money they have spent and will continue to spend on wages through the season. Shame tbey have no fans and crap ground with all there training in London they must be a franchise club. Name change pending to MK Margate. I have no axe to grind with Zak he gave everything for us and football can be a short career so take it while you can. I just hope he gets a good welcome for his efforts for us when we play them next year. Just hope we beat them.

The fact that he always gave 100% when he played for us should be enough to guarantee him a warm welcome. Would be nice to get them at home first League match of the season
