Margate could be a threat to our championship ambitions , or could just be a danger to themselves . Its all good fun till the money runs out . It may not be next season but it always happens in the end.

It may not be next season but it always happens in the end. Every pit has a bottom. Some are just deeper than others! A lack of success is likely to be met with an offloading of players. So, ironically, is success, unless Margate are building a team for the 2014/15 season that could cope within little tinkering for a promotion push into the Skrill Premier the following season

Apparently according to their forum we are very bitter. Not sure where any of that's coming from as the reaction to Zac following the money has been anything but. It's almost as if they have to invent a reason to hate us, well the one or two that can even be bothered to post on their forum.

Margate are no strangers to boom and bust, boom may get them back into the Conference Prem if they can do it quickly before the money runs out,Terry Brown won't Want to stay in the RPL for more than a season,he took about 3/4 seasons to get AFCW out of this league via the playoffs ,that same side then got promotion instantly from the Conference South. Margate won't be able to sustain 3/4 seasons at this level with a similar spend.
At the old conference heyday they were only pulling just over the thousand, but i do remember some huge boxing day games with Dover that had well over 4 thousand, lets hope bust for them is not too lose it all and end up ground sharing again. Some clubs never learn and they seem to be one.

You would think there was enough for them to be positive about without having to worry what other Clubs might say or how they might react. Maybe taking their star player from the 2013/14 season has created a bit of panic about how easy they might find the League next year!

With the of players going there I can only see one league winner.. Looks that way now, but there is no telling how they might react to being put under pressure. Every League game will have them installed as favourites, but I suspect that the many underdogs will have their day several times over next season

hopefully the fact we're sticking with a lot of players that came so close, Did we really come so close? ,looking back now we were 15 points behind Wealdstone, and finished 7th ,nothing close about that.We were so close until December/Jan. i think a few of our players went missing around and after christmas. This can't happen again. Bar Margate, who will probably win the league, Dulwich, Ks and Hornchurch will be just as strong, and who from the new sides, VCD I'm told play an almost perfect passing quick tempo style similar to Dulwich. We need three to four quality new players, just to compete let alone challenge for the title ,which is what we should be doing. Relying on who we have ,will see us 7th again,we have to build upon last seasons squad.

There is also Bognor, Hayes and Yeading and the Mangles all of whom will have ambitions for the play off's. I would say a far more difficult task lies ahead next season.

Isn't that what is happening - 2 new players on board & searching for at least two more - so EVEN though we were not close Jay is improving the team.

Silly me i forgot about Bognor! H Y from what you read they are a spent force no ground and 100 fans ,the money's all gone, free fall to the Ryman South unless they think of another club to amalgamate with!.The Mangels they have a similar predicament no money and 300 fans, if they have to cut wages of the best players by half what sort of new players are they going to attract, mid table at best for them.

We were 4 points away from second place and 2 points off the playoffs so hardly a disastrous season - in fact considering it was our 1st season in the Prem 7th gives us a platform to build on next year, Yes we did have a drastic dip in form and a continuous injury list throughout the season which were major factors, I'm sure the side would have taken a lot from the disappointment of not reaching the playoffs and will be aiming for better things this year.
To echo Sennockian's point, we have signed 2 decent players and are still very active in the market for new players that fit the bill. Really not bothered about other teams, just as long as next season is as enjoyable as the last I'm happy and I'm sure we'll be there or there abouts.
