I thought the figure was £250,000.
A lot of money before you even start building something.

While more terracing would be nice in the 800:400 seat:stand split, any ground improvements are welcome. Of course banking the standing areas up a bit seems a very obvious thing to do. Interesting comment raised by Bryan on the £50k cost for river side sewer moving. I remember this figure being banded about while the ground was originally being built, and found it slightly strange that while spending £2.8m odd on the ground that this was not done because the actual cost might be significantly higher. Sooner or later we're going to have to resolve this sewer issue and if done would make an ideal home for the soon to be dismantled Springfield end stands. Perhaps it makes less short term economic sense for the owners to justify the spend, but that doesn't mean we (the supporters) should ignore it. Additional terracing along that side would be ideal to meet some of the issues people raise above. At the same time, it got me thinking that we've relied a lot on Oliver/Terry/Bill to be fighting the developments since we moved in, but beforehand we had quite active "BTSH" fundraising, etc. Supporter led fundraising for most clubs is an ongoing activity (I've always admired Dulwich 12th man thing) and since we have so many more supporters regularly coming through we should be able to do something more than the tough old days of digging in our pockets at Sittingbourne. So why can't we work out how much this will really cost to move the sewer and try and do something for the club? If £50k is realistic then I'll happily dig deep and be one of the first to put in £50; I'm sure others will join in very quickly.. Well said LFC (I hope you've got those Carter USM tickets sorted) I don't know why we as a club have become immune to fundraising, whilst so many other clubs at our level are doing anything and everything to raise cash. Mr Reed and the BTSH campaign raised thousands of pounds with an audience of 200-300 people for a cause that actually if we're honest, most thought would never happen. If the cost of moving that sewer pipe is £50k can we as fans not reignite a campaign? I for one would be ok to put aside my season ticket and pay the £10 admission for the remaining home games (directly into a "sewer pipe" pot)....if every season ticket holder did that, plus collection buckets the money could be raised.....I appreciate not everybody has the spare cash but I don't think we should completely put to one side the fund raising that used to be part of Maidstone United Football Club

There is an alternative that if we think the sewer project is beyond us, then pick something more realistic to do for the ground development and help out the owners who must still be bearing much of the original build costs.
OTU - Carter ticket with your name on it. Just Brixton so far, maybe ShepBush tomorrow too…..

Want at the meeting, but it's incredible that this has even come up within 2 years of being home.
1st of all massive credit to Terry & Oliver. Their collection vision, foresight and appetite can never be underestimated. The project was a massive risk, but by the looks of it they've never stood still and enjoyed the rewards. They really should do, and everyone should be forever grateful. Two amazing people. The pitch is another issue, but was the basis of the business plan and one that will come good. I've personally seen Oliver's passion and have no doubts. If not this season the next, but again - did we expect it to be an issue so soon? Total admiration to the guys.
MUFC is the place to be

The cost for moving the services could be confirmed by the club as step one so we can see what the target is. Im all for donating to a fund to help with this. Developing the riverside will improve the viewing capacity and ambient atmosphere no end. I believe the figure to move the services under that side was £250,000. Daunting but who knows what we could do it took several years to reach the total we got from 300 or so spectators week in week out. If memory serves it was between £40,000 and £50,000 even raising £150,000 on gates of 1500 should be achievable whch would be a massive chunk towards the cost. Anyone want to resurrect the BTSH Commitee website and bank account? We need to approach the club to see how receptive they are to all this and how it could fit in to their plans

I would also be happy to contribute to this scheme as well, I do remember Terry saying the club were looking at a debenture scheme, this would raise some much needed money as well, I know a lot of league clubs have done this and if I'm not mistaken some non league clubs have done it as well, off the top of my head I remember or I could be imagining this that Folkestone did this, not sure of the success, but if the club did offer this I think there would be a high take up, I would also like to echo the thanks to the owners who are always willing to listen to the supporters and if possible put into action some ideas or requests, its refreshing to see considering some owners don't take any notice of their supporters, I also know the Independent Maidstone United Supporters Club are arranging some trips and quiz evenings and if people sign up to these activities then this money will also be there to help the club....COYS

I agree with our fanbase we should be more pro active in fundraising towards these costs for upcoming development and ease the burden on our much loved directors. Its fair to say we all owe these guys a massive debt of gratitude for realising most of our dreams
Im thinking Bobby Moore style statues outside the Gallagher on the roundabout.?? ;-)

What about if the club endorsed the idea of selling 1 season ticket and getting the 2nd one half price?
Only the 2nd one is for concessions only, but gives the option of you bringing a mate to the game who could then pay the balance at the concessions turnstyle?
I appreciate this could be open to abuse but as a season ticket holder you are already investing into the club and therefore would probably have the clubs interest at heart.
If you take 500 adult season ticket holders buying a 2nd one for half price, that would already be an additional £50k,at the same time encouraging existing fans to bring someone else along, (or indeed paying for children or OAPs to attend)....as well as the potential for receiving additional revenue for the balance, should you bring another non conession.
You would need a clear differential between tickets, ie 1 black and 1 amber.
I appreciate not everybody has this sort of cash but I would be willing to do it, as more than anything it would probably persuade me to be more pro active into bringing someone else along.
You'd also need to extend the offer (in some way) to consession season ticket holders.

How refreshing to have a chairman/ co owner who listens to the fans! To be fair on Oliver and Co they never in their wildest dreams expected the 3G model and homecoming to be such a success. Almost to the extent they are now playing catch up, any planning for the future in my opinion is progress and I for one will always renew my season ticket to show my gratitude for that. The restricted views, probably owing to the gradient of the terraces is well known and I'm sure this will be resolved in due course. Can they raise the height of the terrace at all? Ie increase the height of the concrete footing and build steps up into the terrace? Anything is possible in construction

I thought the figure was £250,000. A lot of money before you even start building something. The 300 contributors from the Sittingbourne days are the hard core fan base. I doubt that you will find such commitment from the newbies, as the original appeal was to get the club home, and that has been achieved. I'm happy to be proved wrong though. I for one would not want to start paying out (again) without there being a costed building plan, and all permissions obtained. The concept has to be clear, realistic and affordable, people don't want to hand over their money for a general improvement scheme, it would be too nebulous. Unless you are one of the 300, of course - anyone got Gerard Butler's phone number?

Not on your life, not with our old friends from ELF & SAFTEY.. we are not allowed to climb the steps to exit the ground before the final whistle blows at the Springfield end...
