As much as were all grateful, for returning the club home. I feel that the one major problem with the ground is the standing view, in our first season home i bought a standing season ticket, this i upgraded to a seat, due to the poor view standing. Most games there are empty seats to be had, so more seats need not be the priority, a decent terrace certainly should be. Certainly if your bringing kids to a game, there not going to see to much, which will obviously mean a loss in support in the long run.

The problem being if and when we get promoted, extra seating is a requirement. The plans for this haven't even been submitted yet, can't help but think Terry and co. must be wishing they'd not mentioned anything now!

The rumour on here over the last year was a similar plan for the town end.
Obviously false or a change of plan for some reason

The best place to me would be next to the main stand with some old style stepped terracing. Great vantage points as it is raised. Perhaps similar to the old London Road terracing on the corner. Need'nt be covered either. Has the question been asked?

Oliver's just posted on Twitter that they're gonna have another look at the plans and try to increase the amount of retracing and reduce the number of seats.

How refreshing to have a chairman/ co owner who listens to the fans!
To be fair on Oliver and Co they never in their wildest dreams expected the 3G model and homecoming to be such a success. Almost to the extent they are now playing catch up, any planning for the future in my opinion is progress and I for one will always renew my season ticket to show my gratitude for that.
The restricted views, probably owing to the gradient of the terraces is well known and I'm sure this will be resolved in due course. Can they raise the height of the terrace at all? Ie increase the height of the concrete footing and build steps up into the terrace?

Its a huge shame the springfield end 4 modular terrace units can't be reused even if there was some way to rack and stack em next to the main stand into the bank or on top of each other at the town end. Seems a lot of money to have to write off only two years old at a cost of around £40,000 for them. I dont see why you can't fit one more unit down the town end. Must be down to H&S Emergency evacuation rules.

I prefer to stand, but avoid bringing my daughter because she can't see much even with a stool to stand on. So seats must be priority even if only for ground grading reasons. It is a pity the changing rooms and bar were built where the main stand could be extended. Must have been some reason they could not have been pushed further into the car park.

While more terracing would be nice in the 800:400 seat:stand split, any ground improvements are welcome. Of course banking the standing areas up a bit seems a very obvious thing to do.
Interesting comment raised by Bryan on the £50k cost for river side sewer moving. I remember this figure being banded about while the ground was originally being built, and found it slightly strange that while spending £2.8m odd on the ground that this was not done because the actual cost might be significantly higher. Sooner or later we're going to have to resolve this sewer issue and if done would make an ideal home for the soon to be dismantled Springfield end stands. Perhaps it makes less short term economic sense for the owners to justify the spend, but that doesn't mean we (the supporters) should ignore it. Additional terracing along that side would be ideal to meet some of the issues people raise above.
At the same time, it got me thinking that we've relied a lot on Oliver/Terry/Bill to be fighting the developments since we moved in, but beforehand we had quite active "BTSH" fundraising, etc. Supporter led fundraising for most clubs is an ongoing activity (I've always admired Dulwich 12th man thing) and since we have so many more supporters regularly coming through we should be able to do something more than the tough old days of digging in our pockets at Sittingbourne. So why can't we work out how much this will really cost to move the sewer and try and do something for the club? If £50k is realistic then I'll happily dig deep and be one of the first to put in £50; I'm sure others will join in very quickly..
