For what it's worth, Boston are promoted from the NLNorth. Doubt if anyone here actually gives a shit though.

Also nice to see the problem acknowledged.

Yeah most likely. Shame because he looked like he genuinely gave it all for the club, loves the club and will put himself on the line. Where as there are many players over the last 2 years who come in, dont give a crap and dont appear to try. [/quote]
Pretty much sums up what I've been trying say, so thanks!

Amen to the above, but still doesn't change the fact I find it a bit disappointing. Would like to think that players joined us because they saw opportunities. If they move on for the same reason, fine. Having a mass clear out every season? Not so sure.

With two of the retained list as yet unproven (Court and Smith), that leaves just nine as starters for next season. While ok with these, it means we are looking for more than a few newcomers, plus replacing any of those offered new terms who decide they (or their agents) fancy somewhere else. At our level, it seems pretty cut throat, with not much thought about stability. Disappointing, when we've heard all season about how 'together' the squad have been. Truth is, as already mentioned, far too much of it is about money. Understandable, I suppose, when careers are short, but I wonder if the amounts involved are really life changing? Opportunities, yes, but a few grand to waste a season or two on the sidelines at (say) Bromley (not just Levi) has to be questionable if you really enjoy playing football. Spending all that time staying fit just to be a bench warmer can't be much fun.

I sometimes wonder just how aware the Club are of supporters views and feelings. Are there any lines of communication? Does the website offer an opportunity? The views on this forum are pretty clear, but suspect it is very unlikely they reach the eyes and ears of those who matter, The Club have been poor at communicating with fans for years and it feels like they know they got the Genco wrong, but are almost embarassed to admit it. Really wouldn't hurt for them to come clean about going forward, but suspect it ain't going to happen any time soon.

Shame about Mo. Not quite as good as Levi, but has the same mystery factor in terms of upsetting defenders. Wonder who our next tall, bean pole striker will be? Would keep all our defenders, including Raphe, who is hopefully getting stronger and more robust. Sam Bone too, who can double up in midfield. Corne is staying and very much hope Rush does too. If we can't hang on to our loans, then there are quite a few spaces up front, especially with the likes of Liam Sole, Connor Kelly and Sol W-S missing for so many games this season. Like them all, but are they worth the risk? Same goes for Berkley-A. Would Luque come back and is he fit after a year in the wilderness? If he is, then would love to see him play for us again.

Yeah, number 1 aim should be to get the Genco back. Not sure we've ever really had the whole stand!

No guarantee with a big money striker - they could get injured and miss half the season, just like Levi. Or get poached, Levi again. George built a team that has done pretty well and now knows itself and how to play at this level. A bit more quality in midfield and up front and no reason why we can't do better next year. In the league, anyway. This season has been about rebuilding. Next season will show whether or not we can not only consolidate, but also if there is real ambition to compete in the NL. Still not sure we are ready for that yet, but certainly thanks for the ride.

Had we gone up, next season would have cost us a lot more! At the start of the season most people were happy with the idea of a cup run and the play offs - not much liking the idea of the National League again. Getting close to promotion doesn't make it feel any better, but ultimately another year in the NLS may not be the worst, because we are (probably) not ready. Dorking and BW may not make next season any easier, or they could just implode. Who knows...

This one is hard to take. After a slow start, we grew into the game and were easily the better team in the second half. Didn't take our chances though and got hit by a sucker punch, made all the worse by missing a sitter a minute earlier. Worthing can move the ball around really well, but would drive me nuts if they were my team and if they do get promoted could get eaten for breakfast next season. However, good luck to them, they rode their luck and would rather it was them than Braintree.
