A book of full price tickets paid for in advance is a good idea but 5 is pitiful. To be meaningful it would need to be 10. A first time supporter who may catch the bug and become a season ticket holder for the next 5 years is more valuable to the club than a long time supporter who attends only 5 home games (the club does not gain financially from away support). As I said before season ticket holders support the club at a time when it is most needed and take a gamble. The covid year most of us allowed the club to keep the money even though there were no games, last year we paid to watch a miserable season whereas occasional supporters were able to pick and choose the games they wished to pay for so yes ST holders should get priority as they are not fair weather supporters or glory hunters. Er...I think season ticket holders should get priority. I wrote it above. If you have a book of five you can still come to more. I was also thinking of people who would baulk at £170 outlay but might go for £85. Sorry, you find 5 games pitiful. It's seven or 8 with cup games. Can't do much about working Saturdays and my wife working Mondays and Tuesdays. That's the way it is.

Bring back the fan club with some decent incentives at a reasonable price. Can open and close registration/purchase windows to avoid bandwagon jumpers. Not sure how you’d price it but include a piece of club merchandise or two, maybe a free game per season plus the opportunity to purchase tickets for games like these ahead of general sale.

There’s various ways to do it, from multi tickets, to membership, to vouchers.
But with 4800 tickets on a Monday night, most will have found a way.
In addition to my spare, I’m hearing of someone at work trying to offload two tickets.
Now if it had been a Premier League team at home…

Lets face it the problems over fans and tickets is not something we will have every year unfortunately. A good cup run or a promotion game are about the only times we would not have sufficient tickets to please everyone. It really isn't worth a lot more discussion. I am more disappointed that our good fortune will not translate into a riverside stand as i cannot see the gate improving much if fans cannot get a good view.

And if we don't have enough seats to allow first timers to sit down. Not everybody can stand for nearly 2 hours. And, these days, people expect a certain level of comfort and facilities, even at football grounds. Good Cup runs always attract new people, and some will stay (it's how I got to be a fan, back in 1980) - but few will if they discover that they can't get a seat, can't see the game well, and then see drunken idiots fighting stewards and throwing smoke bombs. Cup runs are rare - to build the club, we need to build our league attendance. And for that we need to be able to offer seats, decent sight lines, decent toilets, food and drink without ridiculous queues, and no fear of violence - if not for capacity crowds, for at least around the 3,000 mark.

Theirs only or including ours as well? Including us That's not bad considering their average crowd is around 24500. 22,500 are the kind of numbers for games against Watford, Blackburn and Bristol City this season.

At half time in whatever the second division is calling itself these days.
Coventry have fallen out of the play off places, 18 points behind Ipswich.
They would be best off taking it easy in the cup and chasing the promised land of the first division.
