At half time in whatever the second division is calling itself these days. Coventry have fallen out of the play off places, 18 points behind Ipswich. They would be best off taking it easy in the cup and chasing the promised land of the first division. I like a man who steadfastly refuses to move with the times!

So after tonight's results we are down to 6th - and could be done to 9th after Saturday. The difference between ourselves and Coventry could be 100 places by the time we play them !!

Some Coventry fans think it’s going to be an easy eight or ten goals for them; maybe allowing us one consolation.
They really shouldn’t bother risking any of their first team players.

Not how I read it. I thought they were talking about home tickets. Either way it looks like being on of their biggest attendances this season. A few home tickets still available. Don't know how well they sell nearer the day

Still find it hard to believe Ipswich weren't 3-0 up after ten minutes, but after that we matched them pretty well in terms of our defending. Going to need a lot of luck, again, but who knows?

However, Ipswich should have had the game dead and buried 3-0 in the first half But we defended brilliantly The 3-0 only didnt happen because we had lots and lots and lots of luck But we scored two brilliant goals In reality though we only had two chances all game and 22% possession But we had a better game plan They played a weakened team so it wasnt really real Ipswich But we havent got our strongest team available either So, if Coventry play their proper team, have a winning game plan, take their chances, and we are devoid of both luck and a kind ref, the Coventry fans could be right and its really really really hard to see that Ipswich miracle ever being repeated. Basically, I feel exactly the same as when I went to Ipswich when we all thought - and even the Ipswich fans - that we were on our nice day out in the limelight just to get tonked.............but this time with the Ipswich miracle fuelling the dream who knows? This is football after all, anything can happen. Does anyone know if Kyps is match fit after turning out for the U23's in the week? We need a Kyps Ipswich performance at Coventry for sure.

]I think we are going to get battered personally. I’ll be quite upset if I get a personal battering, I bruise quite easily these days.

The difference between this game and Ipswich, is that none of us expected to win that game. Personally, even at 2 minutes of the added 8 left, I was still anxiously watching the seconds count down, expecting an Ipswich goal at any moment...
But now we go to Coventry knowing we're going to lose and hoping it's not going to be 8-0 - and maybe we'll even get one back... Except that's a lie. Because there's a little imp at the back of all our brains whispering "we beat Ipswich, it could happen again, you never know...". We know he's wrong, we know we mustn't give in and think that for even a second - but, try as we might, we just can't shut him up!
I never dreamed a once in a lifetime (for me at least) Cup run could be this stressful!

I think we are going to get battered personally. I thought that before Barrow, Stevenage and Ipswich - And after our performance against Averley - I think Coventry will batter us.

Got our (virtual) coach tickets today - thanks to Tim and co for organising this. Just been checking out Coventry and trains/busses between the ground and the city centre. The stadium is about 5 km (3 miles) from the city centre, so, unless you're super fit, it's busses or train. Busses take 30-40 minutes, but there seems to be no obvious/simple/frequent service, so you need to study the timetable (good luck). Trains are much quicker (8 mins), although with a 10-15 minute walk at the other end, and cost about the same (£3), although they only run hourly! But if you're traveling by coach, and we get there on time, you should be able to spend a couple of hours in the city centre and get back in plenty of time for the match. I've never been to Coventry, and my impression of it wasn't very positive (it was bombed heavily in the war and then rebuilt in the 60s, so that doesn't bode well - unless you like 60s architecture and ring roads). But to my surprise, the area round the cathedrals looks very interesting - certainly enough to spend a couple of hours exploring it (they left the ruins of the original cathedral as they were and built a new - very modern - one next door). Although it won't exactly be the weather for tourism - overcast and only 7 or 8 degrees. OS away fans info - www.ccfc.co.uk/fans/away-fan-info/

Train times are not exactly match friendly - 21.50 and 22.50. One only any use if we are losing 5-0 with ten minutes to go, the other if the match needs extra time, while if it goes to penalties it could be a long walk back to the hotel. If there are lots of people wanting buses and trains back to the city, not sure how the system will cope, but they do it every match, so here's hoping. As for stuff to do, there is a decent transport museum, though unless you like curries and burgers the restaurants leave a bit to be desired. Did see a Zizis in the city centre, but near the ground there appears to be very little for anyone hoping for a nice meal before the game (based on Google maps).
