Not convinced there will be a new exit there as one already exists next to the turnstiles. Maybe the path is just for accessing the media hummock. View AttachmentThe “recirculation area”. Makes sense if hundreds of away fans are queueing before the game. Not joined to the riverside path and won’t be if the riverside path doesn’t have an exit. View AttachmentThe new footpath leading to the recirculation area. Wonder if a fence will be put in to stop rowdy away fans rampaging across the car park. May need a gate next to the main gate. View AttachmentDid you trip and fall over while taking these? Looks like a trip, with a full roll lol

That's a shame but I'm not complaining as I wasn't in it but perhaps if marketing comms had been a bit more visible I might have been prompted at the key moment. Hopefully the FA Cup run has covered all the things the lottery was looking to pay for.

In an unsegregated nonleague football game, how do you stop fans mingling?? Surely that's the whole point?
At St Alban's last week, I stood with Stones fans on one side of me and Saints on the other. Both sets of fans cheered their teams on, both moaned about them, often we exchanged viwes on each others players - it was all perfectly amicable.
Meanwhile, the two sets of youngsters were at their respective ends, doing their usual thing - and swapping ends at half time. Without any animosity or trouble.
In other words, a perfectly normal nonleague game, as happens all over the country every week. Why would you expect it to be any different?
Of course, you could treat the away fans like second class citizens, force them to stand in one part of the ground, and then let the local idiots stand next to them and wind them up for the entire game.
And then wonder why there was trouble...

Incidentally, 2m sounds ridiculous - literally only as wide as the new path. That must be a mistake, as it wouldn't be worth buying such a narrow strip of land. I'd guess it's more like 5 or 6m. If it is only 2m, someone needs to explain what on earth they were thinking! Edit: having now checked a few articles, it appears that it IS only a 2m wide strip! So, basically, if hbs laid down across that strip, there wouldn't be much space left... We'll have to go to all the expense of moving the fence, etc and extending the standing area, just to gain a measly 6'6"! Any new stand on that side would be within the current footprint but would block access down that side. The whole point of the 2m strip of land was to provide access behind the new stand.

Sounds reasonable, but was this actually stated by the club? I don't remember if it was.

Looks good. I wonder how many we could squeeze in, and the cost

The old away end had 30 seats.
Given it’ll only get used three times a season and there’s already 500 standing places, go for cheap and cheerful.
Wouldn’t want it all the way along instead of a proper stand.

Wouldn’t want it all the way along instead of a proper stand. Might be a cheap temporary option, but on a permanent basis I’d like to see something with a bit more elevation. Anyone in the front two rows would likely have their view obscured by the pitch side barrier.

Could be mounted on a concrete plinth for sight lines.
But as it’s just for a tiny number of away fans a few times a season, it would be the cheapo option.

Looks good - and, if my eyesight and maths are correct, 100 seats (which will give Cray 600 seats!). But, at a guess of 2.5 - 3m deep, I'm not sure there's room on the riverside, as (I think) we need to keep a 'roadway' clear to allow emergency vehicles access to the EE. Might just fit though. I wonder how much they are?

The planned riverside stand is four rows of seats.
A cheapo metal stand with just 3 rows of 10 seats might leave enough space behind for a walkway.
Or move the fence back two metres to use the land we own.
All depends on whether ground grading demands it, and do we want to spend the money?

Only goes as far as the gantry at the moment but could easily be extended all the way along. There’s also a new gate in the fence leading out on to the walkway.
