Lol. He who said it couldn't be done, wouldn't be done, is too complicated to be done, no space for extra facilies at the Genco end for it to be done, etc, etc, now has to live with his own on the record defeatist posts.

You have to laugh when somebody who has been proven to be wrong all the tine, still won't admit it ! How was I proven to be wrong. Every post I made pointed out that it was expensive and a lot more complicated than people thought. Terry’s interview confirms all of that. What makes me laugh is people claiming credit after circumstances change to make the development more feasible. As I said, just because it’s right now doesn’t mean it always was.

What it actually confirms is that it was not too complicated nor was it too expensive.
Time to be the big man !

I walked past the ground this morning. Work taking place to tidy up the car park & improve access to Gates 1 & 2. With suitable toilets & catering it should work well as the visitors end when segregation needed.
As Bill said in his interview the club want to gain promotion next season & segregation will be compulsory for all NL games.

Obviously good news, but more needs to be done to avoid sleepwalking into more trouble.
The dozen 12 year olds who go among away fans near the end of games must be put in their place, literally.
Create a noisy area for unaccompanied kids and plastic ultras as far from away fans as possible.
No more pratting about in the front yellow hatching area after several serious injuries last season.
Place a steward at the top of each flight of stairs and keep them clear. There will be enough room to stand.
Longer term, there will need to be seats for away fans. Even if cheap and modular.
Keep more lively away fans back for a few minutes to prevent trouble outside.

What it actually confirms is that it was not too complicated nor was it too expensive. Time to be the big man ! Was too complicated and expensive to do mid-season as many were suggesting though. Besides, we don’t even know the extent of the changes necessary to facilitate the change. From Terrys comments the club had hoped the issues surrounding the segregation would have eased over time - sadly not the case. It appears the incidents are a bigger factor than the match day experience as such.

Couldn’t have been done affordably but the cup run changed all that, so stop trying to claim credit for what was unworkable without a big cash injection. Dave - just accept that that it was suggested by some fans and now is happening. Just take one on the chin for once. Indeed I had the very same argument with him and he said it couldn't be done. If I could be bothered I would go through all the old posts but it wouldn't do any good. Over to you nws

I simply pointed out the difficulties and that surely the club had looked into it. Can’t you just accept that the situation changed prompting the club to have a fresh look. I was never against the principle, just the constant bullshit about how easy it was and the club not caring about supporters.

“Because Oliver said so” is not the great argument you think it is. He’s free to do whatever he wants with the club he owns. I’m free to comment on the sometimes unpleasant experience as a paying customer. Do you argue with Tripadvisor reviews? But he’s the one who knows how much it’s going to cost. Your opinion is based on what? It’s just an opinion. If you’re such an expert perhaps you should tell him how it should be done. All you’re doing by spending a fortune to reconfigure the town end is giving in to the f**king morons who think they’re so hard. Just ban them for life, and get a decent security company who will eject trouble makers of both sides and he presto! no more problems. Turns out one doesn’t have to be an expert to know when something can indeed be done.

So this is why we give up nearly half our home terrace to Weston-super-Mare. View AttachmentFor 20 away fans and ten flags in a space designed for 800 people, while home fans stand in the aisles. Two seasons ago away fans stood wherever they could and mingled with no trouble. And they sent stewards to watch one middle aged man who shouted to George to sort the players out. Make it make sense. How many times has this question been answered. It’s not solely the club’s decision. The local police and even the council have a say. Hopefully they didn’t need too much persuading. Especially if the outcome is an improvement.

Only just caught up with this. Terry's interview is hardly detailed, but it sounds like they are making the TE the away end?
In which case, well done to the club. Not an easy decision to take, even if it is the obvious one, because of the expense. But, by the sound of it, we had enough left over from the Cup money to do it - or at least to start work on it.
As someone who suggested this ages ago and who has taken a lot of flak for it in the years since, it's especially pleasing to hear this.
So, again, well done MUFC - good to have our faith in the directors reconfirmed.
All those who go on about the club not listening or not caring about the fans have got their answer - loud and clear.

Well done jdl for calling it right, but you wern't the only one by a long way. Terry gives the impression that aggro between supporters was a big issue. Shame really, but the outcome is going to be so much better in lots of ways. Looking forward to the new season.

Interview with Terry Casey on YouTube and article in KOL with Bill. Both say they are aiming to win the league this year (or next), while Terry admits they were hoping the hooligan element would just go away, but we're, sadly, wrong. Hence Genco for home fans and Town End for away. New gates, footpaths and catering being installed to cope. Happy days.

Bit naive to expect our numpties to change their behaviour. Is anyone on the FB group (the original one). What are the general opinions on how off-season is going? Squad progress and these works now mentioned?
