Does anyone know why George got a yellow card. It was long after Brown's 2 yellows and I assume the ref must have heard George whisper a critical comment. He through his hands in the air as if he could not believe it. Why did it all kick off?

Why does anyone argue with a ref? It can only end one way.

Sorry for the delay in posting my thoughts but despite being not well I have been on a pub crawl through Tonbridge listening to the excitement of the Mangles fans. The game was dull, we were the better of two very average sides and the only plus point was the equalising goal was worth the money and effort to get there. Neither team did enough for 3 pts and the ref was a grade A berk. The lino on the main stand side was at least 20 yards behind play all game, too much Xmas pudding methinks. As for the kerfuffle after the goal all the ref needed to do was say was sit and shut up but no let him get him 15 minutes worth of fame. I was originally refused a seat in the stand because I hadn't booked it but i gave the security man my stick and told him he might need it,he asked why and I told him I'd break his f**king leg if he didn't let me sit down,I got a seat😁

Well I managed to miss completely that the match kicked off early, until 12.30. My passengers arrived at mine at 1 pm, and we had a traffic free run to Tonbridge, where some creative parking was required. Unfortunately we’d missed the first 40 minutes of the match, but on the plus side, we missed the first 40 minutes of the match. Now, what time is kick off on New Year’s Day?

Highlights show that while we had several attempts on goal, only one was on target. They had less attempts, but again, only one on target. In other words, neither keeper had very much to do. Still no information on what happened after their goal, though Jay Saunders says he thinks his booking was for 'being responsible for his team', while George avoided this issue completely. A prior agreement with the interviewer, no doubt. Nice of Tonbridge to give our fans their home end. Can't see it being reciprocated! Will there be a bumper turnout on New Year's Day? We were much better that the Chippenham game, but it's hardly been exciting stuff of late.

We dominated them for most of the game but you have to take your chances to win games like that. Gutting to concede at the death but the reaction of their players was outrageous and the ref should have booked the whole team for the way they goaded our bench. What a f**king horrible foul cesspit of a club they are. Not sure what our two red cards were for. I guess you’re just supposed to sit there and take it when the whole opposition team is goading and provoking you. The FA really needs to look at that and issue a massive fine to teach the scum a lesson they won’t forget.

TWO red cards? Saw Brown get one, who was the other? At this rate, half the side will be suspended for Stevenage! If there is any chance of appeals, we need to take it, especially in the face of such provocation.

If there is any chance of appeals, we need to take it, especially in the face of such provocation. You can't appeal a double yellow red (presumably because you can't appeal a yellow?). I don't know what happens when the yellow is clearly wrong though - for instance, if it's given to the wrong player. Presumably, those can be rescinded? But what happens if the yellow in question was one of those that led to the red??

Anyway, whatever happens, we are fucked for the cup game. Once we lost Amantchi, that was it really. I know we beat Barrow without him, but that seems to have been a false dawn. Take away his 20 goals and the positive effect that had on the team, and we are a mediocre club, that will be lucky to end the season in the playoffs.
I thought we'd be ok, even without Amantchi, but we clearly aren't. Perhaps George can rebuild the side and the team's confidence, but his recent buys and loans (reminiscent of Hak's desperate days) and his behaviour on the bench, don't give me too much hope.

Lol - JDL and DaveU seem to be watching two different games and following two completely different teams! Trouble is whilst my pendulum swings far more towards JDL this average NLS team suddenly pulls a miracle out of the bag like beating Barrow or out of the blue plays bizarrely well just when we are all throwing our hands up in despair. Or it strings together a run of wins with barely above average performances. One game we play the ball around well and the next one we hoof it and sky it or play head tennis and huff and puff like the Isthmian Yo yo club and yo yo performing team. You just don’t know which Stones are gonna turn up. Rush seems to be coming good though. COYS!

I didn't realise Monday's game was actually all ticket till I randomly checked the official website.
The club should really advertise this a lot better because I can see quite a few people turning up Monday thinking they can just pay on the day.

I'm still blown away by people taking positives from that match - I thought we were WOEFUL. Like really really bad. Only an opinion, but one shared by my dad also.
Tonbridge certainly weren't deserving of the win, but neither were we. Nowhere near. As a full time team with a plenty of players who have recently played in the league above (and higher), we were nowhere near anything resembling the better side. The most frustrating thing was the lack of movement up top bar Matt Rush who as always run his socks off.
Biggest loss of the day was Tonbridge not being prepared for what is literally always a bumper crowd and running out of food, sweets, chocolate AND MILK(!!) at a couple of their bars / stands. Tinpot.

Timmy Abraham is certainly not the answer to our problems, you can see why in his career he's hardly scored.
We should just send him back to Boreham Wood.
