There are some older away fans with Premier League teams who should grow up and sober up.

It's always been the way with football fans. You go along and some don't think the rule of law or decency apply at football. They do and say things they'd not do in the pub on a Friday night because they have crown with them.
The main difference is that you'd get filled in down the pub and rightly so. Used to be the case at football too

According to SL, they had one. Still waiting for more of the "100+" Stones fans who were there to post. Or were they all too busy shouting at children to watch the game? I was there - if Sword is who I think he is, his anger was entirely understandable and most of us felt for him. It didn’t help - a minibus-ful of lagered-up football fans isnt something you’d want to challenge - as the Chippenham stewards and chairman found out. Consideration for one’s fellow man isn’t a football “thing”. Shame. Anyhow - the match - I think the shortage of postings about it is because there really weren’t many stand-out things to say - for me, though, is was noticeable how the midfield and forwards were working effectively together - the new guy was an asset there, and as previous posters have said, Corne and Kelly too. It was not yet a joy to watch but good things are building - it was a really encouraging game. Another observation on my part - Levi is properly goal-hungry. Of course, everyone is to some extent but no, Levi’s evident frustration felt to me like something else - like a striker who feels like 3 goals a match is his minimum expectation. I haven’t seen that for a while, and I’ll be very surprised if his good days aren’t REALLY good. I am who you think I am and I thank you for your words of support. I do not regret confronting them,I do not regret my outburst but I do regret doing it in front of innocent minors. I will always stand up against arseoles and stand face to face if necessary even if I end up in hospital. If they had been Chippenham fans my reaction would have been no different and blows would have been exchanged,I may be getting old and I'm disabled but I still have a mean headbutt and right upper cut. I am no angel but I have never knowingly been so discourteous to my own fellow supporters, not in 50 years. I would like to think this is a one-off but should it happen again I will not back down and I will say my piece even if its a waste of my breath. Anyhow its happened,I cannot change that fact,I thought at the time that this was the final straw for me as far as watching the Stones is concerned but if I stop going because of those wankers then they win znd I will not give them that satisfaction.

I've never understood why 'fans' get so pissed they probably can't even remember the game - especially when they've gone to all the trouble to get to an away game. It's a pity the club(s) can't do something about it. I hope none of that lot are going Saturday - that would be really depressing. You can't really miss Sword - if you think it was him, it almost certainly was! Thanks for the match report - sounds very encouraging. And pretty much what I was expecting from George - slow start, and steady improvement, hopefully leading to an exciting second half to the season. We'll find out just how good we are - and how far we've got to go - next Saturday!

We all know who is behind it, but he gets special treatment by the club as some kind of superfan. I’d ban him. To be fair, he’s the guy who usually tries to mediate between the problem-children and their targets. He and the kids got it wrong on Saturday and defended their position far too rudely - but everyone makes mistakes (especially on a hot day after a skinful). The guy who was trying hard to let the stewards do their job was Shaky - credit where it’s due. I’d personally not like to see anyone banned. I’d love to see the whole crowd treat each other with respect, but after all these years I’m rather more optimistic about hell freezing over. And pigs flying. And Britain rejoining Europe. All on the same day that I win the Lottery despite not buying a ticket.

He was sat down chatting to me when everyone stood in front of him. However, Sword is Sword and he is not always diplomatic🤣🤣. I am a terrace fan and like standing so can understand people wanting to stand behind the goal. I'm sure a more peaceable solution could have been found but it escalated quickly. I think the barracking of Sword after he left was not very acceptable. The issues with stewards etc being mentioned. I'm confused. I think stewards moved in worried about trouble but it diffused when they realised that the two sets of fans were getting on. My daughter sat there through the game and she wasn't worried. She even walked through them at one point to go get a drink. I think that's a fair indicator that not much was happening. Don't be fooled by Shakey. He's often at the epicenter of stuff but - god forbid I have to say this🤣🤣 - he's a pretty pleasant person, despite the drunkeness (and repetitive singing🤣🤣)

They will get their comeuppance one day and who knows maybe even need my help and I'll just laugh at them an walk away.Anyway time to move on.

Would be a shame if someone made a phone call to the local constabulary about a football coach allowing drinking on board.

What’s the desperate need to get so tanked that you have to drink on the way.

Yes, Dave. Watching Maidstone United requires you to be tanked AND sky high on class As... As a minimum! So that’s what I’ve been doing wrong all these years The one main thing about getting tanked up before the game is seriously affects the memory and another thing is it really affects the memory.
