Well we saw Beth's replacement in action. Looked like a gentleman of somewhat mature years making his way slowly to an injured player. Trouble is, the time it took meant that the player had either recovered by the time he got there or he had fallen asleep. Seemed like he needed some sort of transport aid to get him around the pitch. Not impressed ! He could have had the healing powers of Jesus Christ and you wouldn’t have been impressed

I'm just surprised swordy wasn't asked to take over. I would have just stood on the touchline and shouted "Get up you tart"😁

Cheers patm, not many of us get match programmes these days. Bill def hints at the scale of the task in front of Hak. I still get one. Just haven't had time to read it yet. Must still be enough people buying one to make it worthwhile doing a print run. Hard copy programmes are no longer a requirement in this league so I doubt the club would produce it at a loss. It's often worth the money just for Bill's contribution. There's a few other bits that don't make the website or social media but I doubt I'd buy it if not for Bill's article.

But "Beth... has also left" hardly adds much to the sum total of our knowledge on this matter! If Dave thinks that is worth buying a programme for, I can think of better things he could do with his money instead - paying for my chips, comes to mind. And, thinking about the structure of the club, Bill is actually a pretty key part of it - in fact probably THE key part of it. Who actually runs the club? Not the owners, not Hak and Terry? And yet, when things go wrong, we tend to blame the owners or the management - I can't remember anyone ever quetioning Bill's decisions. Now, before I go down in a hail of invective, let me make it clear that Bill is 'Mr Maidstone' to me. He was key to our success in the 80s and 90s and key to our resurrection and success since. He is the thread that runs right through the last 40+ years of MUFC. But who makes the decisions like 'letting Beth go'? Or going 'full-time', or getting rid of Jay, or bringing in Wheeler...

I dont recall many of our long term absentees receiving their injuries on the 3g. Luques was at Dartford, I think JBW.s ha[ppened away also.
The only serious injury thats been long term i remember on the 3g was Flish and that was from a horrendous challenge not the surface

Wonder if the outrage would be quite so loud if it was an unattractive middle aged man with a family to support. Wow and as an unattractive middle aged man would not have to deal with all the abuse Beth has handled so professionally working in a male dominated environment dominated by males with neanderthal attitudes towards women, then you are probably right!

Despite the massive overreaction from the crowd the bognor player did nothing wrong, if anything Flish overstretched going for a ball that was running away from him.

Looked awful at the time from the town end and didn't look any better on the highlights

At the time I thought the ref would award a free kick to bognor and having seen the highlights several times since I haven't changed my mind. Their player clearly got to the ball first and Flish lunged in late trying to retrieve a heavy touch.
