Don't get me started! Poxy Halloween had barely started when Christmas stuff came in the garden centres - and it is still September FFS. When I rule the world, Halloween will be banned completely, along with Black Friday, and Christmas will not be allowed until after Bonfire night with the latter only on a single weekend. Anything else with American influence, like mother's day will also be banned. It is called Mothering Sunday here - or should be.... Couldn't agree more,I used to have to work Xmas eve to get the Easter eggs in.

The Jet station in Burnham is currently selling petrol and £1.39 a litre, so well done them. Birchanger Services on the M11 were charging £1.89 recently, which really is taking the piss. Why anyone would buy more than five quid's worth of fuel there is beyond me.

Something, one many things, this country might embrace from our French cousins, is the concept of a cafe gourmant. Very simple, you get a coffee and three or four ( used to be up to five) small tasting desserts - a macron, a chocolate mousse, cake etc, for the same price as a single dessert. And everywhere you go they are different, which adds to the experience. Ok, there are many French things less agreeable, steak hache and andouiette for two, but am sure we could come up with something similar.

Drivers going through red lights seems to be getting ever more common place. Your own light has turned green and a dipshit or three still continue to come through. A real accident waiting to happen. And why? Simple logic says that you are still going to get caught by other red lights further up the road, to say nothing of the danger of wiping out pedestrians. In my village high street, there is a long, narrow section where you just have to wait for any traffic coming the other way to clear. It makes sense to leave a bit of space for them to get through, but no. Numerous times cars and vans will overtake - only to then realise there is nowhere to go. They have lost face of course and often won't give way, which leads to chaos for the next five, ten minutes - all because they weren't paying attention. Wake up, FFS sake!

Traffic light cameras are the obvious answer if the crime is so prevalent that it will fund the investment.

As far as I can tell, for such things to happen, in Kent at least, someone first has to die or be seriously injured. Any volunteers? A case of being reactive, rather than proactive. That and a lack of money.
