How often does this need to be said. Mask wearing is not about protecting yourself, it's about protecting others from possible infection by you, which it does by reducing the distance that airborne droplets spread from between 6 and 20 feet to a few inches. I think most understand it here. Johnson and Co will hope you don't so everything is your fault

Totally agree and it is also a sign of social responsibility that you are not going into public places with such an arrogant attitude where one may be unwittingly pre or assymptomatic but do not care about the possibility of spreading disease. This is most relevant in enclosed spaces with poor air circulation and especially public transport.

www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-54064347 puts things in perspective a bit. Are they still talking about antibodies from people who've had COVID, being useful to make the disease less severe for older people? In which case, can't they get these millennials to do something useful for once and donate plasma?

*** warning to Fred and Adrian, I'm about to say something that may be perceived as left of centre... ***
I really don't get the "go back to an office, catch the virus there if you don't get it on public transport first, remember to buy over-priced sandwiches from Pret to prop up the economy" edict.

I fear the mistake you are making here is to be looking for logic and reason and a coherent plan in this government's actions. They are flying by the seat of their shiny pants. When Mayor of London, Johnson was known for his laziness, inability to grasp facts or bother to do his homework, and idicisiveness. The common assumption was that he tended to agree with whoever he'd spoken to last, so aides and lobyists always tried to get to be the last person to speak to him before he had to make a decision.

I totally agree. The whole start to this thread was about Johnson's needless rhetoric and encouraging people to dice with the virus. I am glad you are seeing it now. Whatever side of the pitical equation you are on I don't see how you can continue to deny that this 'government' is the most appallingly corrupt and dishonest bunch in our lifetimes. The arrogance and sheer audacity with which they switch stories, lie about their actions and blame others is breathtaking. (this is a general point not aimed at you, OS).
