I am just going out on indepubanddance day but as I usually social distance from people in a pub it will make very little difference to me. Apart from teenagers ,who aren't allowed in the 2 pubs I frequent, everybody in Tonbridge has been sensible and adhered to social distancing measures which is why statistically it's one of the safest places in Kent and indeed the country. I dont doubt for one minute that the pesky little virus isnt out there somewhere but we cannot stay locked up forever and that is what the last 15 weeks has felt like.

Hang on, I thought you didn't believe the statistics? Enjoy that 1st pint, and the subsequent ones. Mine was a Doom Bar.

There's no chance of either contracting or passing on the virus simply by passing too close to someone in the street, you need to be within 2 metres for upwards of 15 minutes.

I dont as a rule especially when they say there are 625 new cases of which 637 are in Leicester alone. I do though believe the facts given to me by a staff nurse at the Covid 19 unit in Tun Wells hospital especially the facts about people dying of natural causes but have Covid 19 on the death certificate all to receive extra funding which they should be getting anyway. I am in Ye Olde Chequers garden as the pub tables are full but the Kronenbourg(no ales as yet) is going down well

I was inside at the collection office in Rainham, it's about the size of our club shop with around 20 people in there, I'm not taking any chances of getting the virus and then passing it onto others. I drove straight there and straight home and was gone 25 minutes so definitely side in very close quarters with numerous other people for at least 15 minutes I'd rather look an idiot then potentially get ill.

Just think six months ago if you walked in there wearing a mask they would have shit a brick thinking you were a robber😁

Although he has a totally ridiculous name, this chap speaks a lot of sense::
Professor Hugh Pennington (University of Aberdeen), said: "I do not see any reason why there would be a second peak of this virus and I have not seen any evidence to support the idea. The idea is a hangover from flu pandemic planning, from where the mathematical modellers have injected the notion that we might get a second peak. Rather than a second peak, what we will get if we do not do things properly is the virus dribbling on, with local instances of it taking off. The pattern of this virus has been one of outbreaks, which have been due to particular gatherings of people—on cruise liners, for instance. In South Korea, a religious sect was responsible for a lot of cases, because people met, got infected and took the virus with them to different parts of the country. However, that is not a second peak; a second peak is a flu phenomenon and there has not been one in China for Covid-19. They managed to get the virus numbers down, which took a reasonable length of time."

There's certainly scope for everyone to be able to claim to be correct with no definitions of what a 'second wave', 'second peak' or 'spike' actually mean.
Historically there is a seasonality to deaths in this country with higher rates during the winter. If Covid-19 deaths follow that trend does that constitute a second wave? The tabloids are likely to say 'yes' but that doesn't make it so.
