Oh God, JDL's back to posting (Sunday) Grauniad articles as his contribution to the discussion. nws will presumably be home-schooling his kids until the whole world has been vaccinated - to do anything else would after all be courting COVID, wouldn't it? Thought you might spot that! It's worth a read though - convince yourself it's actually from the Observer...

I'll confess to skim reading it. As the hack(s) on here will tell you, you're duty bound to make your copy interesting - even if that involves shamelessly using unlikely worst-case scenarios as an attention grabber, interspersed with speculation and opinion as fact. Ever thought of becoming a journo, JDL? On Saturday, OS Junior and I were out geocaching with an old university mate, who's also a Dartford fan* and a headmaster. His opinion of the government's role in education recently was pretty damning... On the COVID side, dunno what else they're supposed to do at the mo - if people having been tested don't answer their phone / email, making track and trace only get a 70% hit rate or whatever, is that Boris's fault? Surely the only solution is to get Bill Gates to put a microchip in all of us . You'd hope they'd extend the furlough scheme for a bit longer... yes there's the potential for the autumn to be an utter mess, and nobody will be happier than Katharine Viner if that happens. * uptheterras.co.uk/Match/weymouth-vs-dartford-2/ go to 20:00 and enjoy Dartford royally f'ing it up. Needs a verb beyond "to Kedwell".

I hate to tell you but he is saying the same as me. I trust you took your kids into the pub to hug everyone possible. It's only a bit of flu innit?

Because you don't look for the answers. Always be curious. Always question. Always search.

But where should I search? For a moment I thought you'd hidden a rude message in there in white font. Reading between the lines... dunno.

Got my Stones facemask today. Bit of a curate's egg. Seems like a 'proper' facemask, with replacable filter pads, and adjustable ear loops, and it's a decent size (I find most masks too small), but oddly there is no nose clip (the bit of metal that bends round the nose to seal the mask against your face) - and without that it doesn't really protect your face.
And one other thing - from the images on the OS, I mistakenly got the impression that the Stones badge was on one side of the mask and relatively small, but it's actually right in the centre and takes up almost all the mask! I'm not really a colours wearer - a B&A scarf and a hat in the cold weather, but no replica shirt (happy to support the club, but want to retain a modicum of what little 'style' I have!), so this is way OTT for me - half my face a huge B&A badge!
So, I'll be keeping this for games, not shopping in Aldi.

A true supporter would have splashed out on all three - although all three have the disadvantages you mention (I don't regard the central badge as a disadvantage). But they are not as hot on the face as the Mulberry fashion masks, and the best mask I have is the foam one I bought from Headcorn Garage for £2.99!

The best mask I have seen is one my daughter made from a sock. It does come with one drawback. She seems to have one cold foot all the time

I tried it out today, just around the house, and I'm afraid it's one of the most uncomfortable masks I've used. I only lasted about 10 minutes before it got too much. So, maybe not even for games. Shame, as they've missed a really good marketing opportunity there - a better design, with B&A colours, but with a more discreet logo, and it would have been my day-to-day mask.
