I had a complete Trump of a day yesterday - had to drive to Luton to pick up the wife and kids. I've done nothing more adventurous than shop for food a couple of times a week for the last 5 months, so was completely unprepared for the Covid aspects of this. It wasn't until I had filled the car up and was eating a cheese roll, that I realised that I hadn't washed my hands after getting petrol and had just used the same hands to eat with...
Add in the fact that the rest of my family has just spent 10 days in a country where no one ever seems to have heard of social distancing, and I might as well just start eating paracetamol and praying now.
Mind you, if that was a Trump of a day, God knows what today was. When I went to return the hire car, I discovered I'd been done for parking (which is made worse by the fact that I had actually 'bought' a parking permit from MBC - but never received it!). Then Mrs JDL managed to fall badly and hurt her arm, and, to top it all, I drowned my phone in the kids' paddling pool. I was 265 quid down by 5pm!!

I don't like right wing governments (that is fairly clear) but I generally stamp my feet, complain and carry on. This mob are a different breed. It is the complete indifference to honesty and the ease with which they do it that scares me. The idea that things were to be left to common sense was one of the most laughable bits of the whole lot. No Alex, you are meant to set rules and laws and insist people obey. As you say, it would be nice if he started with his boss advisor. Jesus,you don't arf go on don't yer. While he enjoyed an all expenses holiday paid for by a rich backer Corbyn dished out meals to the poor. There were other parties available |

Meanwhile, we wake up this morning to the news that half a million people in, or travelling back through France and the Netherlands will have to self isolate for two weeks. BBJ will no doubt get excited about the fact that the infection rate in France is around 40 people per 100k, twice what it is in Blighty, which means one person in a decent attendance at the Gallagher in better times.
Yet we are continuing to reopen stuff, while New Zealand locks down Auckland after 29 cases in a city of over a million. We are now averaging a thousand new cases a day it seems, though hospitalisations are not rising because cases are mostly in the 25 to 45 age groups.
Numbers of people caught flaunting lockdown rules on the rise. Hardly surprising when nobody knows what the government expects from one day to the next, least of all itself.
Crump the Tunt meanwhile proves ever more grasping at straws suggesting Biden's running mate not American because when she was born, her parents were only on student visas. Racist? Probably. Devious, underhanded crook? When has that got in the way of politics, anywhere?
