nws quit whining for heavens sake. The country voted for Brexit and then confirmed it by overwhelmingly electing the only Brexit party. You are in the minority and are getting boring = get over it. This is a football forum not a political forum. Take your whinging to facebook if you feel compelled to let others know your feelings. We welcome your comments about MUFC just leave it at that. He never puts anything on Facebook just makes us suffer on here.

Were I the type to quibble I'd point out that 43% of a vote is some way from overwhelming, but I'm too busy enjoying the sunlit uplands to worry about what a bloke from Herne Bay thinks.

Not sure that is a valid comparison JDL. I think you will find Boris won with around 30% of the electorate last December. Bear in mind 1/3 of the electorate couldn't be bothered to vote.

OK, I concede that. I was just having a go at the idea that you can decide a constitutional matter as serious as taking away our citizenship on a vote of just 37% of the electorate. I'm pretty sure there's no other democracy in the world where that would be allowed.

Anyway...
I have now lost all track of where we are with next season. With only 9 days to go unti our fist home fixture (and as I have already paid to watch it!), it would be nice to know asap if it will happen or not.

The season starting is now down to whether the Premier League or FA agree to paying the national league 3-4 million a month. If they aren't prepared to bail the league out there's no way we can start.

That is dated 15/9, so presumably they've had a reply by now? Edit: This apears to be the latest 'news' - dated three days ago: "Following a meeting of its Board of Directors this afternoon, the following update is issued on behalf of The National League: In recognition of the financial uncertainty facing its member clubs, The National League is actively engaged with Government, with the assistance of The Football Association, to secure a critical financial support package, and it is hoped this can be announced very soon. It is imperative the revenue shortfall caused by the pause to the safe return of spectators is responsibly addressed so each club can operate sustainably over the course of the forthcoming season."

That was the statement released on Thursday, the government said up yours to it.
