A 25% capacity might see a clamour for season tickets. Many of who don’t turn up, plus casual fans deterred because it’s all too much hassle. Not going to be easy for the owners to find the right balance.

Increased prices are to be expected but to ensure survival of the club it’s a price worth paying and I certainly wouldn’t consider asking for 19/20 season ticket refunds etc. With the season going to resume most likely in October I’d say we are lucky to have retained the players we have, but going forward perhaps a more local lower league type player will be needed to stem the wage budget, but it’s worth it if the club remains stable and might unearth a gem at the same time. I imagine operating costs won’t be reduced that much with the staff needed to run a match day (stewards etc) but can’t see much room for manoeuvre otherwise.

If its home fans only they can tell the security to f**k off for a start that'll save £1000's.

If it IS home only, Boring Wood's attendance is going to be interesting! No social distancing needed there...
And, talking of which, I've only just noticed Fleet's average home attendance for last season - 979 (the 2nd worse after BW). What it is to have loyal fans that still come to every game, even in the bad times...

Taken from Dover's website www.doverathletic.com/news/ticket-update/''Dover Athletic Chairman Jim Parmenter and the board have had to make some very difficult decisions after it was confirmed by the National League that the 2020/21 season is scheduled to start on Saturday, October 3.
Even before a football is kicked in anger, the club is fighting to ensure its survival.
At present, plans communicated to to the club could see capacity caps of 15% at Crabble – that percentage means a limit of 861 spectators with no away fans allowed in.''

At present, plans communicated to to the club could see capacity caps of 15% at Crabble – that percentage means a limit of 861 spectators with no away fans allowed in.'' Crabble capacity: 5,745. Last season's average attendance: 1,104. 816 max attendance = loss of income equivalent to 288 fans. JWW capacity: 4,200. 15% = 630. Last season's average attendance: 1,776. 630 max attendance = loss of income equivalent to 1,146 fans. Obviously not going to work. So, why 15%? I would have expected more like 30%. Which would mean 620 more than Dover's average attendance - and Stones 'only' losing 516 fan's income. Still not great for us, but perhaps a 1,260 maximum might just work? For us to get something like 'normal' income, we need an average gate of around 1,700 - which is roughly 40% of capacity. Anything much less than this and we struggle - and, of course, fans get locked out. (NB - the 15% figure for Crabble might reflect some oddities of the stadium layout, which wouldn't apply to JWW? But still, a 20% maximum (for instance) wouldn't be much better for us. Also, home attendance figures obviously include away fans, so, if there are no away fans, this will obvoiously affect things. But, again, I suspect it won't make that much difference - how many away fans on average did we get last season - maybe 50 at the most?)

The only oddities about the Crabble ground is that it is a mega-shithole full of wankers from the lowest of the low stewards to the head wanker himself Mr Parmentosser. Good job this ain't facebook as I might get another f**king 14 day ban to go on top of the 14 day ban I already have for insulting York Citys tin pot fans😁😁

He's not wrong, though. By far the worst ground I've been to for the away 'experience'. Not going back there unless it's for the Cup or to see us get promoted. Actually, probably not even for a Cup game. He's taken friendly, community football and turned it into a prison camp.

You’d like to think the government would be initiating some sort of relief fund.
Something like this each home game (Average attendance over the past 3 seasons - new COVID capacity) x ticket entry price + 5%.
But even at 15% capacity, surely this is better than nothing? We are paying the players already, presumably?

Bloody slog up the hill then crammed in like Prisoner Cell block H, with a shit view of thick metal stantions.

We were last there Boxing Day 2018, so all of the above issues + the fact that a few fans were full of Xmas sprouts & produced the most appalling stench in the away silo. Crap absolutely !

swords language may have rated an X certificate, but he was bang on the money.
It is a disgusting, filthy ground in every respect, with probably the worst stewards in the league.
Anywhere, just anywhere, is better to be on Boxing Day (even the mother-in-law).
