Don't understand why you are so anti Saidou Khan. He is one of the few players last season who was worth paying to watch. I am not anti Khan in anyway . He is a good player but not worth the silly money being touted around last season. My point was or is the poster said he is one of 3 players we should be building the team around, and I agree with that, but everyone wanted to cash in on him last season n,ow you want to build a team around him. I didnt think we would get silly money for him and we certainly wont now it all depends on whether WE can afford him. I don't think anyone wanted to cash in, but if the figures being touted before he got injured were anywhere near accurate we'd have been silly not to. Also you have to consider that any valuation the club put on him may have been designed to discourage interest. However if someone was prepared to stump up that amount, again we'd hsv been silly to turn it down. So whether you think the figures were silly or not, I've no doubt that some of them were genuine.

How come some clubs are still signing players?

Good luck to Jake Cole. Good move. Some clubs will see the shut-down as an opportunity to get ahead of the game and make progress. Other clubs will see the shut-down as the time to go into hibernation and stagnate.

How come some clubs are still signing players? They have a manager in place?

too true jackster find it a bit naive that anybody thinks that all NLS clubs are shut. 95% of players out of contract and Stones havn't got a manager in place Could be a great time to be doing business There will be winners and there will be losers

As we see more deals done by other clubs it will be interesting to see how our Board reacts and if that speeds up the appointment of a manager for 2020/21. Although not rushing in to signing players could be a smart move as there will be some last minute bargains among players who try and hold out for higher wages and as the season nears realise they won't get what that hoped for.

Did we lose Hak then? How did I miss that?

Hak has not officially been offered a contract for next season as far as I know.. He is not being paid by the club (as far as we know) so he is not there to sign players etc.
To quote Oliver in the KM recently:
" keen for manager Hayrettin to build a team for a new season..
We gave him our backing in March and he remains our first choice for manager next season.
“He deserves the opportunity to take charge of the team. Time and circumstances will tell what sort of contract deal we can agree in due course."

"It's the early bird that catches them worms" And a f**k off great crow to scavenge the carcass of a dead club. So if the wheels of NLS football are slowly starting to move, Sennockian may actually be wrong, and we may be getting football at the Gallagher sooner than the next millennium, shouldn't we either be giving Hak a contract and getting him to start zooming some players...……...or getting Jay back before the Gate keep him with the promise of a shiny new stadium to start weaving his 3 in 4 magic in compiling a super part-time squad for the Stones?

How come some clubs are still signing players? Maybe some clubs are confident of there future financially an thus able to sign players ready for when the new season starts.

No point in signing up players yet... football at our level wont resume until its safe to do so with crowds its as simple as that. I imagine Hak will be the manager next season if he agrees to part time - no point offering him a contract until we know when that is. Earliest start we can realistically be hoping for is January I would say; and whats the point of signing players to pay them for not playing with no money coming in for whats most likely to be 6 months? The premier league resuming gives the illusion we're ready to start thinking about next season. Definitely not. Just getting this done so they can avoid the hassle of the issues that would arise with relegation and promotion.
I would imagine Hak in his mind knows if he's going to be here next season - and if that is the case I'm sure he's making plans and speaking to players with a lot of 'what ifs'. Being dormant at this point isn't an issue - and once training is allowed again - and the gallagher revenue streams start flowing, we'll see a lot more movement.

Lets hope the shiny new stadium is enough to keep JS at Margate, as he quoted in the press recently it was one of the reasons he signed, so he can stay there whilst we get a manager who wants to rebuild this old club rather than a man who might be more intent to live on previous glories or seek revenge for the humiliation of being sacked. We need new fresh faces to help us out of this situation.
