So if the wheels of NLS football are slowly starting to move, Sennockian may actually be wrong, and we may be getting football at the Gallagher sooner than the next millennium, shouldn't we either be giving Hak a contract and getting him to start zooming some players...……...or getting Jay back before the Gate keep him with the promise of a shiny new stadium to start weaving his 3 in 4 magic in compiling a super part-time squad for the Stones? Lets hope the shiny new stadium is enough to keep JS at Margate, as he quoted in the press recently it was one of the reasons he signed, so he can stay there whilst we get a manager who wants to rebuild this old club rather than a man who might be more intent to live on previous glories or seek revenge for the humiliation of being sacked. We need new fresh faces to help us out of this situation. Like the clown, you mean? That's the last time I heard "fresh face to help us out of this situation". Gravesend have tried that now, with a German. Jay would put some heart back into the club post Covid, heal lots of old wounds, and get lots of positive press from the footballing world (e.g. Sky TV commentators) who in the main couldn't understand why we got rid of JS in the first place. The world is a nasty place right now. It needs knights in shining armour, glory days reborn, legends returning etc - even if it is all fantasy - it will make people feel better, and make the return of football to the Gallagher feel even better. Yes, you doom mongers, it may all fizzle out again, but for a while, anyway, it will be brilliant, and a much, much needed tonic. At least the place will feel like the old Maidstone United again even if "Jay returned" didn't deliver. He would leave it second time around a happier place than first time around, I'm sure. Anyway, its all fantasy anyway as Hak's name is still down as Manager. The point is that if that's the case, it looks like he needs to start work again and building a squad so that we don't get caught out with only five players when the NLS announces the start of the season and everyone is competing for the same players.

Seems a bit strange that other clubs can begin to think about building their squads for next season, starting with the manager on a new contract. How the Stones will get any benefit from doing nothing for the next few weeks is a bit of a mystery. Oh yes, just think about all those players left out of contract cause no other clubs wanted them. For sure they will be cheap as chips.

Last season with JS2 and Hak and months of planning and preparation, we still started the season lightweight and with too many weak links. Just doesn't give you a lot of confidence that we will be ahead of the game exactly whenever next season starts

So BBJ you think there,s people who cannot understand why JS was sacked, well maybe it was something to do with us not winning a game in goodness knows how long, many clubs would of sacked the manager long before we did, as for wanting knights in shining armour to save the day I just assume you been out in the sun too long, let,s be realistic, JS was a great servant in the past but we as a club move on to hopefully bigger an better things. An finally why mention the clown no one else did, I certainly didn,t detested the man long before he became our manager. So who ever becomes ourr next manager he will get support from me until he fails.

We all know why Jay was sacked, but we now know a lot was going on and with hindsight there may have been other ways of helping him and keeping him that would have been preferably to the new face that came. My point was that whether its Jay or Hak - which it is, as he is still our Manager - the Gravesend announcement today, and Jake Cole to Gloucester, and other news, seems to suggest things may be moving towards a season start sometime in the next few months, so lets not get left behind, confirm who our Manager is, start paying him, and getting him working so we don't miss out on the available talent that is out there.

Clubs need to know 1) when/if the season will start and 2) will supporters be allowed in too watch and if so how many? The answers to these will dictate how and when clubs will agree budgets. I think clubs that are signing players now are taking huge risks.

No one knows when the season will start and what leagues everyone will be in so what’s the point in wasting money in paying wages when no games are being played. Clubs will have no income due to no attendances at games. There will be a lot of players looking for clubs so there is no rush signing players at the mo. There may be clubs that fold so more players will become available. I can’t see how non league clubs can survive with no money coming in for attendances.
