Doubt if there is any chance of carrying on where we left off, as lower league football will be a completely different animal when things eventually start again. However, results and performances were certainly declining leading up to Lockdown, but as to why, who knows? One possibility is that end of season apathy had already set in. It must have been known within the club that John Still was leaving, so given the amount of scouting he did, as 'his' players, were many of the team already thinking about being somewhere else - especially as most were out of contract? If Hak stays and can assemble his own squad, maybe he can have a greater impact in the new season? There again, his CV at this level isn't exactly great thus far. Either way,an awful lot has to happen before we can think of football at our level starting again.

Fair point, things won't be the same. Fact is we were bottom on the form league when we finished playing, the team was going backwards. Just as well the season finished when it did. No way can we re-start as we left off. Is Hak the right man to take charge of the reins ? Looking at his CV, it doesn't come anywhere near to the bloke that BBJ admires.

We must hope that the owners give us some hope. I think we all remember what Terry Casey said when Jay Saunders departed and was replaced by 'the clown'.

Zero comment coming from the Gallagher. Nobody but nobody seems to have heard a whisper of news, not from the Tescos check-out queue, not from the normally reliable Car Park, not from anywhere. Logically then, it would seem to follow that nothing is happening and the Gallagher is closed for business. Just hard to believe that the owners havn't been reflecting and discussing options, depending how and when the new season kicks in. But the appointment of our Head of football or Manager needs to be in place from the outset. Is it up for grabs or is it sorted ? No idea, but the longer we wait for an announcement suggests to me that things may not be as clear cut as first thought.

According to Sennockian there wont be any footballs kicked at the Gallagher until at least August 2021 anyway. How we are going to pay the bills to stop the utilities, beer pumps, toilets etc at the Stadium seizing up and growing weeds by then I don't know! By then Hak may have re-opened his chippie and had the time to become the new fast food magnate of Essex and no longer need football. Most of the existing squad who were glorified part-timers on full time wages will have found other careers and given up football altogether never to return to it, the rest will need more money than the part-time we will only be able to offer, and we will be starting from a clean sheet with a whole new squad. We may start with an open house trial for all of us to go along to see if we fancy our chances in the black and amber! So until then, what's there to announce? Other than the glorious return of our beloved Jay, of course. Terry will get him to pull the weeds, bring in Flish to drain the beer pumps, clean the toilets, drive the minibus etc etc...……….just like old times.

In fairness I think Jay used to do all the things you have attributed to Flish. Mind you there was much to love about Flish, apart from his long throws. I always admired him for his passion and how well he used his elbows to get to the front of the queue for the pie shop. Oh, such happy days.

Nick I think your find in previous posts from the club they told us that all staff had been basically laid off so the club was in lock down no one there to keep us up dated, so we will have to wait an see what is released by the club but dont get too excited I think we will get snippets of information just to keep our interest levels up.

Why put information out there when we don't know if we will have a 20/21 season ?
We don't even know when a 20/21 season would start.

Fair enough jakeyboi, so the Gallagher is closed down and none of the support staff will be around.
So there are hundreds of non league footballers milling around out of contract, none of them knowing when they will kick a football again.
We don't know when the next season starts and so I understand why some say "nothing to be done, let's wait and see". Thousands of business will go to the wall during this pandemic, other will have the nouse and luck to survive, including the Stones.
At a time of crises, it will also be a time of opportunity for some - you can come out stronger or weaker, relative to others,
I know which camp I want to see Stones in. Why would you want to be at the back of the queue, rather than ahead of the game ?
If Hak is the man to be appointed I guess he will be a very busy bee already, making enquiries and making contact with potential signings.
But is he the man ? Has he been offered the job ? Are the owners in a waiting game just because 'We don't even know when a 20/21 season starts'

As Hak's position hasn't been confirmed by the club yet. What do we feel about Sammy Moore becoming our next manager?
For me he ticks all the boxes. He's local, he's young, he has good experience on the playing side and has been working at progressive part time clubs.

He looks like a good shout, but a bit of a question mark over the "ongoing personal issues" that saw an end to his job at Concord, and we are assuming that Hemel canned him due to having no money due to the Billy Ray, and not a repeat of the same issues! Otherwise, if we could afford him, he could well be a good candidate for the "new Jay", as long as he doesn't bring a load of Essex boys in...…...weve had our fill of those over the past few years and it would be good to be a Kent team again! Trouble is, we still have the "old Hak", don't we, so all a bit premature until Sennockian lifts his scythe of doom about when we will ever see footie at Wat Tyler Way again, and Oliver and Terry can stop being faithful to the hangers on - which they will be, to their credit, as that's the nice guys they are - and make some bold decisions for the "new" season - whichever decade that will be in, and whether or not football will still be a contact sport by then, and allowed to have spectators etc.

WIKI On 22 May 2017, Moore was announced as first team manager of Isthmian Premier Division club Leatherhead, following the resignation of Jimmy Bullard. Moore also signed for the club as a player.[16] On 2 May 2018, Moore was appointed as first-team manager of National League South side Concord Rangers on a two-year contract, following an impressive debut season at Leatherhead.[17] Likewise with his spell at Leatherhead, Moore will continue as a player/manager. In his debut season in the National League South, Moore guided Concord to a 6th-place finish, but due to the club failing to meet ground size requirements, they were in turn, barred from the play-offs.[18] Four days later, it was announced that Moore had stepped down from his role due to "ongoing personal problems".[19]. In May 2019, Moore was appointed manager of National League South club Hemel.
Decent enough swampy but how do you reckon he compares with a certain Jay Saunders ? (who bbj has gone quiet on)

Interesting that the most frequent tweets from Jay have been about his good old Stones, in days not that long ago
Almost certainly means nothing of course, other than his very fond memories, but - - - - -

I am correct in that statement.
