He's still pedalling the idea that sun/light/heat kills the virus too. People often confuse the words pedal and peddle. Pedal is a noun referring to a foot-operated lever, as on a bicycle, and a verb chiefly meaning ‘move by working the pedals of a bicycle’ (they pedalled along the road). Peddle, on the other hand, is a verb meaning ‘sell goods or promote an idea’ (he peddled printing materials around the country she peddled a ludicrously Utopian view of the past). The related words pedlar and pedaller are also confused. A pedlar (also spelled peddler, especially in the US) is a person who goes from place to place selling goods; the word for a person who sells illegal drugs or stolen goods (or, metaphorically, who promotes an idea or view) is generally spelled peddler. And of course, it does (although it's actually the ultraviolet) - but you've only got to look at all the people dying of it in hot countries to know that this makes no real difference! He's winging it completely, just hoping that somehow he accidentally hits the right thing and can claim that he saved America. In the meantime, he's way out of his depth - and, with November looming, he's getting more desperate by the day. It's a good job he's not in a position where such an inadequate and unstable man could do real damage... Quite possibly the most selfish human being on the planet, though even the term human is questionable. For many Americans, the role of president is semi sacred, in that, regardless of what the man days, he is the president and therefore has a divine right to say so - and is correct too. The irresponsibilty of Trump in these times crops up on a daily basis. The sooner he is voted out the better. Trouble is, are Americans sufficently tuned in to reality to get rid of him? I have my doubts. |

I predict that that Trump will be removed from office, in a way that will be considered unconstitutional by around half the population. Two armies will form along age old Confederate and Unionist lines, and a second US civil war will play out. God bless Uncle Sam.
I'm off to drink a pint of branded disinfectant, and do a bit of sunbathing. I here it works wonders.

And the the White House now say he was misquoted by the media. So it's fake news, even though he was witnessed by, presumably, millions saying it.
So that's alright then!

Americans beggar belief. An item on BBC news site this morning details how 8% of people in Detroit live with no water because they have been cut off for not paying their bill. Apparently, this is normal in this 'great' country. So no ability to sanitise, let alone flush the toilet. Things like this and the attitudes of those demonstrators against Covid19 restrictions only go to show what a screwed up country it is. And then there's the president. In possibly his most outrageous comment since 'pussygate' - which didn't stop him getting elected of course - yesterday he was promoting the idea of injecting or inhaling disinfectant because it kills the virus in minutes. This, at a time when hospital admissions from misuse of cleaning products have gone up significantly and injection of bleach is a well known method of suicide. With all the guns available, Americans can only hope he doesn't start suggesting shooting coronavirus is an excellent way of stopping the spread. Football? What football? In one of the southern states there is a group of Americans who have been panic buying guns and ammo as they believe all those who die due to coronavirus will rise from the dead in a zombie apocalypse. In not them something boro Baptist church lot but from the same kind of area. |
