Grow up nws. I offered you a truce but clearly you are only interested in an argument. You are entitled to your opinion of course but no need to be so acerbic all the time just because more than one of us have a different view to you and agree with each other.I think you probably got the definition of an extremist. Chillax. For acerbic read acidic Acerbic works for me.

FAPP is the basis for your agenda. I'm quite intrigued as to why you get so het up about a few lost football matches but are so relaxed about something that is killing vulnerable people. A quite amazing disconnect with reality but I am sure you can enlighten me. By enlighten me I mean by actually commenting on the issue rather than repeating my words with the addition of a smiley face, in replay to JDL, or do you always need to enlist someone else's help to answer something? Grow up nws. I offered you a truce but clearly you are only interested in an argument. Chillax. Grow up blah blah blah blah truce blah blah blah chill blah blah blah. I wanted a truce NWS but elected to keep making twittering sideswipe's but it's still all your fault. Hilarious. What happened to block, ignore, move on...you and your little side kick were all self-congratulatory a few days ago. Here you are resorting to trying to call me names. Went well didnt it. All I offered was an opinion on a message board. You just don't like it. I'm happy to argue about things. I call it debate and I thought that is what forums are about. Remember, you can only TAKE offence. If you are so grown up, block, ignore and move on.

As you have someone to be a friend to help you out it doesn't matter what the word is really

I think it's best if nws self-isolates for two weeks. Actually, make it a hundred and two to be on the safe side, Ade! How many people have died from normal flu meanwhile? Interesting to note that they tested the 7 people who were in the same Milton Keynes ward as a man who died of COVID-19. None of them were positive. If I self isolate then rather than being out and about or at work I will be in with only the Internet for entertainment. Are you ready for that?

Flu kills hundreds, sometimes thousands of vulnerable people every year, and that's with vaccines available, yet we don't have the mass hysteria and media frenzy caused by the current outbreak. Maybe it's better to try your best to protect the vulnerable while letting the otherwise mild illness take its course and die out naturally. Jesus Christ. Wandering spider bites have killed only 14 people so if we stick one in your house you can quote that statement and go about your business completely unfussed! The best way to protect the vulnerable is not to pass them the disease. How do you propose to do that? I, personally, feel fairly nonchalant about covid-19. It is vulnerable people that I worry about. I have repeatedly made that point. You have just pretended I haven't to try and push your 'NWS is panicking' point that is blatantly untrue. Still, given that we have now reached agreement on protecting the vulnerable and given that we know there is no cure how do you propose we do this? It obviously can't be anything as arduous as a temperature check for people.

Newsnight yesterday had some interesting information and comparisons. For example, if you do nothing to halt a viral outbreak, it will peak high and fast, but be over just as quickly. Delaying tactics do just that, delay things, but the effect is the same, but over a longer period. Isolate and there is a high risk of it coming back later. Am wondering if across the world, we are approaching things the right way? Instead of delay and isolation for everyone, shouldn't we be doing our best to protect the vulnerable, by focussing on them, especially as we are told many will only get a mild dose or not even notice at all, while children it seems are not at risk? One person interviewed was the wonderfully named Professor Brilliant ( does the law of averages mean their is also a professor fuckwit somewhere?), who suggested the Korean approach was the best one: test as many people as possible, so you know for sure where things are headed. Sounds like the government is paying attention for once with a five fold testing increase just announced. Two weeks ago, Italy had 300 cases, same as us now. They now have over 10 000. Is this us in two weeks? If so, what will the situation in Italy be by then? Worse or getting better? If the latter, good, but can't help thinking that 10 000 out of 60 million is a very small percentage to shut down a country over. Are 'they' not telling us everything, I wonder??? If so, maybe we should all practice bending over to kiss our arse goodbye, before it is too late... I am utterly befuddled as to why we have not been testing at airports and stopping flights from infected areas. I'm glad we 'took back control' of our borders!

WHO has declared Covid-19 a global pandemic.
Are we ignoring them as well on the basis that we don't want to upset Dave and his hayfever?

So don't do anything really because it is mostly old people and vulnerable people that die, we will get a cure at some unspecified date and way more people died 100 years ago. OK. Stand down Italy. It's only 827 people that have died in two weeks. Stop panicking. Be comforted that lots of people died in 1918.

Hey Sword, any chance of changing the title of this thread to "Another thread hijacked by nws and his political rantings" for the unaware? Thanks.

Hey sword, care to point out to bringbackjay that he was going to block, ignore and move on. He doesn't seem to be grown up enough to do it.
While you are at it please point out that the title states the thread is about coronavirus so posting about that is not hijacking the thread. However, posting claims of political postings that have never occurred, merely to create an argument, is childish hijacking.
