It's amazing how time changes things,before I moved to Tonbridge 6.5 years ago I used to regularly drink in pubs and shop and walk around the town centre and even on a quiet day i would meet or greet a dozen or more people that i knew. Yesterday I visited four pubs,three shops and hobbled my way around much of the town centre and there was nobody,not one recognisable face in amongst a fairly busy town centre. Where has everyone gone? Tonbridge? No Maidstone as per the title of the thread but surely you knew this with your razor sharp interpretation skills of my poor writing. As for Tonbridge it is a much smaller town centre but i would say on a hobble through i would meet or acknowledge at least a half dozen people. |
