The Pantiles was very pleasant yesterday morning, with a a coffee and pastry no more than, and nicer, than Costa. Faversham always seems very civilised, as is Tenterden, but our County Town looks ever more down at heel. Same almost everywhere though. Soon, the only reason to go into town will be to have a coffee, get hair/nails done and browse charity shops, though the latter could get ever more important the way the economy is going. Oh hell, finally making the trip to "The Garden of England" and it's going right down the shitter. Hopefully no roaming gangs of trouble makers in Lamberhurst, where I'll be based.

It seems that Maidstone no longer have the monopoly on people being stabbed to death, a man in his 20's was stabeed to death in Tonbridge last night making 5 serious attacks this year and 2 deaths.🤬

Unreal - what a waste of life and horrible for all the families of the victims / perpetrators. Don't live far from it and walked down that way with a mate and his young son a couple of days after to go to the park, and you'd never have known anything had happened. Eerie.

Very,I have coffee most mornings at Nancy's Tea rooms and you could almost feel the emptiness in the air when it was all shut off by the forensic teams.

At the risk of being political, the cost of living crisis is only going to make things worse, as people struggle to make ends meet. Resentment will grow from the have nots to the haves, while general social unrest is already more evident in the growing number of strikes. The latest energy cap will only add to the problem. And what does our zombie government do? Wait for your new PM seems the only response. In the meantime, millions of ordinary people can only worry themselves sick in the face of crippling fuel costs and price rises. It really isn't good enough and highlights the fact that those in charge simply don't care, or at best are just ignorant.

I would not be surprised if the Notting hill carnival kicks off big time with the consequences spreading quickly through London and spreading across the country. Maidstone could be a place to avoid this weekend. We do like a nice riot in this country and its been quiet for too long.
