I actually have thought we have played quite well in some of the games in this poor run. It has been a bit worse more recently.
Today was one of those games that we do have quite often. We huff and puff but have a lack of quality when it matters.
Solihull, Aldershot, Dover away we’re wins we threw away. Dover maybe not so much.
Eastleigh, Woking and Ebbsfleet - we should have at least drawn.
We just concede silly goals and loads of them.

Has everyone also noticed how the training before the game starts is always the same. We always do the same shooting practice (which usually ends up with the ball in the Car park) in the same position and not shoot from different angles. We crossed the ball in so many times during the game yesterday so why didn’t we practice crossing and try and head the ball in. It’s just so poor at the mo and Jay just doesn’t know what to do to change it which is very worrying.

The form tables are really worrying now. One point from last six games and only Guiseley worse, with zero. The other teams just below us are all starting to pick up points. Worse still, it just hasn't felt like we could get a league win for so long now. Chester, injury time, 11th October at home; Torquay, mid November, away. Jay seems to be carrying the whole weight of the club on his shoulders at the moment, so what are the other staff doing? Lewis and Worgan seem to have some influence and try to lead by example, but on the touchline am not sure Southall is offering anything, while of course we are missing a first team coach now too. Mutterings on the terraces yesterday were questioning the overall intelligence, or rather the lack of it, of the team - something I've been wondering about for a while. We just keep doing the same things, which clearly aren't working. Paxman tries to be creative, but doesn't seem that others are on his wavelength that often and far too many of the goals we concede come from errors in midfield, as per yesterday. We need folk to stand up and starting taking the initiative, instead of just huffing and puffing and going through the motions. Otherwise, where are ANY points coming from before the end of the season?

Reading yesterday's programme, Mr Williams ( maybe jokingly, but with poor timing ) did ask for some inspiration from this site, well Bill, plenty to get your teeth into here ! One thing definitely in Jay's favour is his ability to secure loan signings for the club. How much of this is down to Jay, I don't know, but without the contacts leading to these signings we'd be totally sunk ( and would have been so last year as well ).

So come on then all you lot saying sack him, just look around at who,s available to step into the club.. There's a bloke at Margate called Steve Watt who won his seventh match in a row today... This is certainly a watershed moment in Jay's career - the first time he's really been under pressure. He has always been a 'people person' and that personality has brought good players to the club in past seasons, which has helped us get to where we are. Unfortunately, Jay has never been a tactical genius and I do agree that he has a very small catalogue of tactical ideas. I remember stating on this forum a season or two ago that he wouldn't be entirely tested as a manager until we reached a level where we were no longer the big boys - obviously we've reached that point. I think it was mentioned as we headed towards getting out of the National South due to having a defence tighter than a duck's backside, and despite using a forward line that couldn't hit a cow's arse with a banjo. We looked tactically deficient that season despite our promotion and I was a bit worried. Last season, Jay conjured up some great loan signings that got us out of a hole but this time round, instead of being a poor team getting better, we look like a decent team on the slide. This is a far different challenge than he has had before. Should he go? I'm a bit undecided. I certainly wouldn't let him go unless I was convinced we had a good manager to take over. Steve Watt is doing a great job at Gate and he has experience of playing at this level and above, so he would be the obvious choice perhaps but beyond him I'd struggle to think of anyone I would want to approach at the present time. Steve Watt is winning with the Jay Saunders sides of the past. Great at that level but he seems to be making a success as Jay Saunders has by following the same methods

I think this side needs to go on some sort of army/outward bound course something completely away from football, face some adversity together and learn to succeed as a team. This lot seem to be playing with complete fear and trepidation and have lost that winning feeling.
This team looks beaten from the off and accepting of defeat. Needs someone to show them they are better than this.

Different ball game etc.

So disappointing to continue to read of posts slamming Jay Saunders.
For sure the form of the team is seriously poor and fans are questioning when the next win will come from.
But imo the posts on this forum that are knocking Jay do not represent the opinions of most supporters.
In my book he still has loads of credit and will be given the time to turn things around.
For now we just have to take it on the chin, be patient and carry on supporting the team as best we can.
So easy to support the club during the good times.
Not so easy when things are not so good. Time to be counted.

Your side is playing with fear as you suggest, the longer the winless run goes on the more fear they get, this happens when important players get injured, or move on, and this has been happening to you. A manager can only do so much, he was good for you earlier on in the season, so it's says to me he knows what he's doing at this level. He has tried to plug the gaps with loan players the best he can to replace those gaps, one or two players don't make a team, but they sure don't help when there not playing. Personally I think you'll be fine, you'll get an unexpected win which will kick start you. COYS.!!!!!!

Gave up expecting a win a few games back.

I think we need to wait until this time next week; two more games & an opportunity to see if the loan players can make a difference. If we still have the same points total in a week's time then we have to ask why a team that looked like pay-off candidates earlier in the season are now looking like certs for relegation.

Jay is a class act and I wanted him instead of Brown and Day. A strong Kent presence in the Conf. is highly desirable, Fleet Stones Bromley Dovres and Dirtford next year augers well for some great local derbies, decent gates and the chance for bragging rights.
