Bookies maybe fearing getting their fingers burned on one of the others, so chucked in Jay as a random selection to draw attention away from someone else. If you chuck in a random selection at half decent odds, enough people will think there's something in it to take a punt, and in a small market like NL managers it only takes a few bets to dramatically change the odds. Kent online says Jay turned down the Macclesfield job. Not anymore it doesn't. Story has mysteriously disappeared. |

Sorry, but when Craig Tucker (KentOnline) reports how Stones impressed against Macclesfield and that the bookies have pretty much closed their books, you have to accept that the writing is on the wall. Thanks for the good times Jay and best of luck with the next stage of your career Even some of our own fans were saying goodbye a tad too soon. |

Strange that Jay's odds went from 10/1 to 1/10 in only a few hours when not many out of Kent even heard of Jay. Bookies will have just been balancing their book. I can't imagine a huge amount will have been staked on the market so if a few quid went down, it would cause a large shift very quickly. |
