Weird how all the rumour and speculation began.
All from on-line bookies where Jay's name came from no-where to very short odds on favourite in the space of 24 hours, to them not taking any more bets.
What was that all about ?
Extract from Macclesfield fans forum a few minutes ago.
I think we've offered it him and he's turned it down. Keith Curle surely will get the job now. Shame really, I thought Saunders would of been a good appointment.
Maybe it was all smoke and mirrors and nonsense. All very strange

If you go on Macclesfield Twitter account and look at the picture of their new grounds man,Danny Walker,he may well have been mistaken for Jay by people who saw him around the place lol.

People connected to Macclesfield must of thought it was a done deal so put a fair bit of money on it......Jay even said himself that he was very close to taking it, but changed his mind. |

Bookies maybe fearing getting their fingers burned on one of the others, so chucked in Jay as a random selection to draw attention away from someone else. If you chuck in a random selection at half decent odds, enough people will think there's something in it to take a punt, and in a small market like NL managers it only takes a few bets to dramatically change the odds. |
