Looking at the latest close up pics on Twitter...

You can see the grippy bits you will stand on, then a strange kind of back plate rising vertically.

Any ideas?

Maybe it's where they will place the barriers / guard rails

It appers from the top right of the stand that the steel sheets are in fact being bent into the in between steps.

That is New Stand porn indeed!

But the thing wot puzzles me about the stand is the two 'access tunnel' thingies. As there's nothing under the stand, presumably these don't lead anywhere - so why are they there?

Is this some form of future proofing, or is it a health and safety (evacuation?) thing?

The tunnela are how fans will access the stand and under the stand will be the refreshnent and toilet facilities

I read somewhere (maybe several pages back!) that under the stand will not be built in yet.

Expect portakabins and temporary loos to begin with.

I wonder if any land will become available to buy when Springfield is redeveloped.

Could be slots of a sort for future or temp barriers/seats?

This is what T&O said at the supporters' meeting (but not the bit about buying land!). Money is very tight, but they wanted to build a proper stand - which means nothing underneath it for now.

So, presumably, those 'exits' are for the future - I can't see any point in them at the moment, as fans will simply leave via the front of the stand, as per the main stand and the TE.
