Walked past the Rifle Volunteers before the match on Saturday as it looked too full for my liking.
Not something I thought I’d ever say.
Duke of Edinburgh due to reopen on 1st March.

(*not the whole pint) Not sure how true it is, but I heard that Fosters was originally brewed to take the piss out of English tourists. |

Certainly tastes like it! I grew up with the Barry McKenzie cartoon in Private Eye, where they were always drinking Fosters. You couldn't get it over here then, so it took on a sort of mythic quality in my mind. So, when I had a chance to actually drink some Fosters a few years ago, I was staggered by just how awful it was. Admittedly, I'm not a lager drinker, but I have had a few over the years that I've quite liked - but not that one! I had a similar experience with Red Stripe - hearing about it for years and then finally buying a can (extortionately priced!) at a Notting Hill Carnival one year, and discovering it was just piss-poor lager! |
