Says our political correspondent. You ditch your load of bollocks and we'll ditch ours. My comment was firmly to poke mischief because, in essence I'm not bothered by this thread at all. It is notable that many complaining this is a football forum to me because they don't like what I post have been only too happy to post non-football stuff. It's sheer hypocrisy. I am aware of that but you will note my battle with the bookies is in the right section as I am good little boy and more than happy that I've had a few thousand views. I would be happy with a few dozen🤣

So lead the way nws and take your solo politics debates with yourself off of the football part of the site and show the pub fanatics how to do it and leave the football section just for football. As a man of so many principles and opinions I expect you now to follow through and lead the way as all good politicians should. More likely to follow through then change his underwear🤣 That's just age🤣🤣

But it's not about Maidstone and so I put it in the Non Maidstone section, if admin think it's wrong they can always move it.

Which pub in town is best for football? The Old House beer is cheap and gets lots of northern football fans for a decent chat. Ashes is full of young premier league football fans who have never been to their club and only sells overpriced fizzy lager. Duke of Marlborough is OK for a football match and the landlady is a local legend. The Cherry Tree is basic, but has lots of Maidstone United fans. Have even seen the occasional Maidstone United game in local pubs over the years. Anywhere else to catch a football match for those who don’t want to subscribe to Sky or BT? You might want to check if any of the pubs in question use gas or any football clubs use gas. Maybe check if football or the pub trade are affected by cost of living crisis or any fans are affected by gas prices and/or the cost of living crisis. EDIT: Let me help www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/63439943#:~:text=There%20were%20also%20lots%20of,crisis%20had%20impacted%20how%20much

Off the top of my head - the Duke of Marlborough is probably the best one in town: lots of screens, friendly, an insane array of pub snacks and a Stones shirt up in the bar. Not my favourite pub in town, but probably my favourite to watch football in. The Walnut Tree going out of town is great, but a fair trek if you're looking to be in the town centre. Fishermans Arms used to show football AND have Maidstone scarves up, but it's been a long long time since I've been in so that may well have changed. Druids Arms still show football (I think) but is more or less a chain pub.

Never noticed a TV screen in the Druids; it’s not on my football TV radar. Think the Eagle had BT but not Sky. Village Hotel pub does, and often has teams staying overnight before playing Gills. Feathers in Lockmeadow, if you can cope with kids birthday parties. Clubs: the ACA in Allington probably do. Maybe the Tommy Wyatt? There is a TV in the druids but no sky/bt.

Ah I go in there so rarely but remembered seeing football on recently - almost definitely a World Cup game on terrestrial!

100 grand?? They must have done a lot inside - all they've done outside is paint it a rather odd shade of blue. Possibly my nearest pub now the Swan has gone (RIP), but I've never been inside - not because of how it looked or what it offered (it has shown Stones games in the past), but because of the people drinking in there and hanging around outside! As for the Duke of Marlborough - it's the only pub I've been kicked out of since I was 18! They just decided to shut one day - just after we had started a game of pool and with half our drinks still to go. No explanation, no refund - all very strange.
